Corporate media twisting words like pretzels to cover for Israel’s killing spree in Gaza
By Ethan Huff // Oct 21, 2024

Sky News in Australia is running cover for Israel's war crimes against the Palestinians by manipulating the English language in its skewed coverage.

Concerning a recent drone strike on a military base in the Middle East, Sky News lied about what happened by referring to a murdered Palestinian toddler as a "lady." Sky News also referred to the four active IDF soldiers who were struck by Hezbollah as "teenage victims."

Here is how the deceptive tweet from Sky News reads:

"Israel has named the four teenage victims of a Hezbollah drone strike on a military base – as at least 23 people were reportedly killed in an attack on a central Gaza school."

In another report, also from Sky News, reporters from the network claimed that "a bullet found its way into the van and killed a three- or four-year-old young lady." Last we checked, a three- or four-year-old is a baby or a toddler, not a young lady.

Rupert Murdoch of Fox News also owns Sky News

It turns out that Sky News is owned by billionaire Zionist and media baron Rupert Murdoch, described by Mint Press News as "Israel's most powerful supporter."

Born in Australia where Sky News is based, Murdoch plays a crucial role in Israel's propaganda efforts around the world. Without him, Israel would have a much harder time pulling the wool over the public's eyes concerning Israel's actions in the Middle East.

"Without a sympathetic media, Israel's powerful military would be next to useless in its attempts to ethnically cleanse Gaza," Mint Press News reports. "It relies on crucial Western support for its project, and no one is as important in manufacturing consent for Israel as Rupert Murdoch."

"The Australian-born press baron has close and extensive personal ties to the Israeli political elite and myriad business connections to the country. He has used his media empire to defend Israel and sing its praises, even amidst an attack on Gaza commonly condemned as genocidal. As such, his holdings effectively serve as an unofficial arm of the Israeli propaganda machine."

In 2010, Benjamin Netanyahu hand-wrote a list, published by an Israeli newspaper, of the Israeli Prime Minister's closest and richest benefactors who support and sponsor his political campaigns. Second on the list was Murdoch:

Earlier this year, Murdoch's son Lachlan traveled to Israel to participate in secret talks with Netanyahu and former Israeli Prime Minister Benny Gantz to discuss new ways to manipulate reporting across Murdoch's media empire in order to expand and accelerate Israel's war on the Palestinian people.

Since at least as far back as the early 1980s, Murdoch has maintained close ties to multiple Israeli PMs like Ariel Sharon, for instance, who Murdoch used to regularly visit for the holidays.

"He also has huge financial interests in the Israeli occupation," tweeted Mint Press News senior staff writer and podcaster Alan MacLeod about Murdoch.

"Ideologically, Murdoch has two goals:

1) Spreading reactionary right-wing politics worldwide.

2) Supporting Israel's expansion."
