Democrats threatened to unleash “loophole” of rebellion two days before Biden dropped out of presidential race
By Ethan Huff // Jul 24, 2024

Democratic National Committee (DNC) delegate Elaine Kamarck is the one who set up a Zoom call on Friday to discuss the "loophole" that Democrats could have used to rebel in the event that Joe Biden refused to drop out of the presidential race.

The call took place two days before Biden officially dropped out on July 21, revealing that convention-goers had the option to choose not to vote for their pledge candidate in "good conscience" despite picking him in the primaries and caucuses.

Kamarck planted herself on the DNC Rules Committee several decades ago. She told everyone on the call that "there's no such thing as Joe Biden releasing his delegates," adding that Joe Biden gets this.

"I don't know why the rest of the press doesn't get it," she complained.

DNC rules stipulate that all delegates elected to the national convention who pledged to a presidential candidate "shall in all good conscience reflect the sentiments of those who elected them."

While the rules previously mandated that delegates had to vote for whoever they pledged to vote for, the 1980 convention saw rule changes amid a fierce battle between Ted Kennedy and then-President Jimmy Carter, according to Kamarck.

"Unlike the Republican party, Democrats can revolt at any time," is how one media outlet put it in simple terms.

Will Biden finish his term?

Now that Biden has dropped out, the loophole rebellion is unnecessary. However, many leftists are now calling on Biden to quit his current term as well, seeing as how he is clearly unfit for the job due to his failing health.

"We've never had a situation quite like this where the primaries were over (with a) very clear-cut winner, and yet something was discovered un[dis]closed, whatever you want to call it, after the end of the primaries that caused people to severely doubt whether or not their nominee should proceed," Kamarck said during the call.

Biden megadonor John Morgan gave notice to his party following Sunday's announcement about his candidate dropping out of the race by indicating that he will not be fundraising for Kamala Harris, who appears to be the left's top choice as Biden's replacement.

"Joe Biden's endorsement of Kamala is his **** you to all who pushed him out," Morgan wrote on X. "Be careful what you wish for."

"If Trump World could pick anybody to run against, I think they pick her," Morgan added in an interview with ABC News.

Morgan's top choice for Biden's replacement is Michelle "Michael" Obama, the "wife" of former President Barack Obama, whom he says "wins in a landslide with any of these picks," the picks being "any combination" of Joe Manchin, Andy Beshear, Gretchen Whitmer and Josh Shapiro.

Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio told his followers that the winning ticket to beat Trump is Kamala Harris and Gretchen Whitmer, who "will wipe the smirk off Donald Trump's face and allow us to come roaring back."
