‘Trump isn’t mentally capable of being president,’ we were told early and often.
‘Trump doesn’t have the mental stability to possess the nuclear codes.’
‘Trump isn’t fit.’
‘Trump doesn’t have the temperament to be president.’
‘Trump is child-like.
And so on.
In fact, more than a few Democrat pundits and news outlets have been pushing for Trump’s Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment, which states, in part:
Section 4.
Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
Earlier in Trump’s term, Vice President Mike Pence was actually forced to deny claims in a ‘tell-all book’ that he was supportive of such a plan. (Related: Never forget: If Kamala Harris takes over as president, she WILL come after guns with a vengeance and may send law enforcement to take them.)
In any event, it’s quite obvious by now that not only is President Trump sane, he’s a very competent leader, as his lengthy list of accomplishments and his pro-growth, pro-America policies have demonstrated.
But now he’s running against an opposition party nominee who actually has demonstrated substantial mental impairment.
Joe Biden has been seen in video after video, clip after clip, circumstance after circumstance, demonstrating well-known clinical signs of early onset dementia.
He is forgetful, unable even to recall famous, well-known quotes (such as from the Constitution). He would become unhinged and angry at voters on the campaign trail, pre-COVID-19. He slurs his words and the things that come out of his mouth are often unintelligible.
Just watch:
And yet, Democrats are not calling for him to withdraw because of mental issues.
That’s crazy (literally).
“And how has Biden responded to claims that he's unfit to lead the country? By doing what all strong leaders do; sending his wife on national TV to defend him!” Zero Hedge’s Tyler Durden pointed out earlier this week.
Appearing on NBC’s “Today” show, she said that questions regarding her husband’s cognitive abilities do not belong in the public square. She also claims that he’s “on the phone every single minute of the day,” as well as participating in fundraisers and Zoom conference calls.
“The president’s campaign this week released an ad just really attacking your husband’s cognitive ability, suggesting he’s lost a step or two in the last few years. Is that a fair attack? Is that something that should be debated as part of a campaign?” Savanah Guthrie, one of the show’s co-hosts, asked (loaded question).
“No,” Jill Biden predictably responded. “He doesn’t stop from 9:00 in the morning until 11:00 at night. So that, you know, that’s ridiculous.”
Yeah, okay. Like she’s going to tell the country that her husband really is mentally unstable and unable to function at the high level necessary to be president, when she’s just a breath away from the West Wing.
Frankly, it would be ridiculous not to question Biden’s mental status issues. The man is running to become the leader of the free world; if he can’t form sentences, remember things, communicate effectively, and not show signs of decline, how is he supposed to lead?
He’s not, of course. He’s just supposed to win. And the Bernie Bros, through Harris, will govern.
