Including creating fake news. Oh, and fake news sites.
Remember shortly after the 2016 election when Democrats, led by sore loser Hillary Clinton, and their propaganda mainstream media outlets began decrying all the alleged “fake news” being put out by legitimate outlets who were reporting fairly on the new president?
We do. In fact, the mainstream outlets all got together and ganged up on social media behemoths like Twitter and Facebook all in an effort to “combat fake news” (even as those very same outlets were pushing fake news and fabricated narratives involving the Trump administration and the president himself) in an effort to ban pro-Trump sites.
But now, as reported by LifeSite News, a Democrat political strategist has actually been caught creating phony news sites to push fake news in key battleground states in order to sway the public away from supporting President Trump:
A Democrat strategist and founder of a political activist organization has helped launch a new media company hosting digital “local newspapers” aimed at influencing key swing-state voters in the 2020 U.S. presidential election…
Tara McGowan, founder of “a nonprofit digital strategy group that organizes progressives online to vote and volunteer” is reportedly “raising $25 million from a host of wealthy liberals to establish a for-profit media company, Courier Newsroom, that has already started rolling out digital newspapers with local reporters and editors in six key swing states — Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin.”
The scheme involves the creation of digital news articles that make it seem as though they came from an ordinary local newspaper, when in reality that “newspaper” was created with the sole intention of influencing voters ahead of next year’s elections.
A Bloomberg report adds that McGowan’s motivation for the creation of phony news sites stems from frustration over “her party’s (Democrats) inability to challenge, or even clearly comprehend, Trump’s dominance of the digital landscape — and the threat it poses to Democrats’ chances in 2020.”
Translated: The ‘mainstream media’ does not have a monopoly on news anymore, and being unable to move the needle with the general public to support impeachment (which is based on a hoax anyway) means the Donkey Party’s previous obsession with ‘fake news’ was just a ruse.
“The information ecosystem has changed,” she said recently, according to the Bloomberg article, which itself was filled with fake narratives and false accusations about Trump and Ukraine.
“We live in a distributed, digital media environment. There’s no regulations. Misinformation not only runs rampant but is now being condoned by the most powerful social media platform in the world,” she said, rather ironically, as she works to create fake local news sites that will push anti-Trump propaganda. And by the way, lady, we have a First Amendment right to a free press, which means…no regulations.
She further complains about what she and the rest of the hypocritical Left call a ‘right-wing echo chamber,’ all while pretending that CNN, The New York Times, the Washington Post, Yahoo News, MSN, and a host of Left-wing sites don’t form their own Democrat echo chamber. (Related: Nobody wants to sign up and pay for fake news from Apple News+, data shows.)
Her complaints amount to nothing more than this: She’s ticked off that there is an opposition media in the first place and that it tends to garner a lot of attention, and that those outlets provide the other side of the story when it comes to Trump and his administration. And she’s probably ticked that fewer Americans believe the “mainstream press” anymore (because those outlets lie to us constantly).
Fake news used to be a massive threat to our ‘democracy,’ the Donkey Party told us. Now, apparently, if it’s being used by Democrats, it’s perfectly fine.
