Almost immediately, leading Democrats and their lapdogs in the compliant establishment media lashed out at the president over his decision, claiming without any evidence or cause that Whitaker, like Sessions before him, must recuse himself from special counsel Robert Mueller’s never-ending investigation into criminal collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and Mother Russia.
The superficial ‘explanation’ for Democrats’ angst is that Whitaker is an open critic of the Mueller probe and has written about his disdain for the investigation. That, say Democrats, is why he cannot be trusted to fairly administer the probe he has now been put in charge of.
But is there something else behind the Democratic opposition to Whitaker’s appointment and oversight of the Mueller investigation? What is really driving Democratic panic? It’s not, in the words of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, “a violent act against the Constitution.” She’s a Democrat; she’s hard-wired to ignore the Constitution at will, whenever it suits her party’s political objectives.
Political analyst and talk show host Dave Hodges thinks he has the answer.
In a column on his show website, he writes
The three reasons why this move is creating panic:
1. Whitaker is predisposed to fire Mueller over the phony Russian investigation based on previously expressed opinions.
2. Whitaker believes that Hillary should have been prosecuted over the national security violations connected to the emails.
3. Deputy AG Rosenstein and his Deep-State wife, Lisa Barsoomian, have presumably been compromised and can open Pandora’s box with regard to nefarious Deep State activities.
Hodges points out that Whitaker opposed fired FBI Director James Comey’s decision to exonerate then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for her serial violations of national security statutes through mishandling of classified information, each instance of which could have carried a maximum of five years in prison. (Related: GOP lawmaker: Rod Rosenstein ‘may be under investigation’ for his supervision of Uranium One case.)
He notes that Mueller should be worried because “he was the first to deliver highly enriched uranium to the Russians and this is documented on both sides of the Atlantic.” Having that exposed not only compromises him but Clinton too — as well as anyone who had anything to do with it (like Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, whom you’ll notice did not ascend to acting AG — a chief of staff did).
Speaking of Rosenstein, his“Deep State ‘cleaner’ wife, Lisa Barsoomian” — known as a “shot blocker for the FBI FOIA defense team as well having represented several Deep State personnel in court (e.g. the Clintons a total of 62 times),” Hodges writes. About the time that POTUS Trump was appointing Whitaker to a position that should have been Rosenstein’s for the taking, the man who appointed Mueller was on board Air Force One meeting with the president.
What transpired? Hodges believes that Rosenstein “flipped” in order to protect his exposure in covering up for the Uranium One deal along with his wife from getting caught up in what’s coming down the pipeline now that Sessions is out of the way and the 2018 midterms are over with.
Moreover, Hodges believes Hillary Clinton will run for president again under some new version of herself because a compromised Rosenstein and Barsoomian are major threats to her. Running for president again “gives her layers of protection,” he writes.
“If the DOJ pursues Hillary, she will claim political retaliation and surely there would be massive George Soros inspired riots in the streets,” says Hodges. “I predict Trump will go after more low-hanging fruit” including those close to or once close to Hillary like aide Huma Abedin and her ex-husband Anthony Weiner, and her former campaign manager and long-time friend John Podesta.
