NRA chief Wayne LaPierre nails critics: “European socialists” taking over Democratic Party as crazed Left calls for BURNING spokeswoman

Let me just say this up front: The National Rifle Association is not responsible for the rash of school shootings that have been occurring since the late 1990s.

Which also means the NRA is not responsible for the most recent shooting in Parkland, Fla, either.

The 17 students and school staff who died there last week were killed not by the NRA, they were killed by Nikolas Cruz, a troubled, bullied (yes, bullieddid you know that?) young man who had been kicked out of school, was well-known as a troublemaker to local police, and twice brought to the attention of the FBI for his intent to shoot up a school.

They weren’t killed by a lack of gun laws, either. Or the Second Amendment.

In fact, if more people believed in the Second Amendment, those kids and scores of others might still be alive.

However, the Marxist Left, assisted daily by the American Pravda media (and schools themselves) have so indoctrinated and propagandized a very large plurality of Americans that they instinctively blame the NRA — not the shooters, not the education system, not the uber-liberal pop culture — for every mass shooting.

NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre says that kind of knee-jerk irrationality is not just socially divisive and wrong, it’s extremely bad for the future of American-style liberty and freedom.

And he sees a major shift in political attitudes in our country, especially within the grossly misnamed “Democratic” Party, which seeks to exploit every one of these horrific incidents to push their ultimate goal of gun control and, eventually, gun confiscation — just like socialist countries.

“Socialism is a movement that loves a smear. Racists, misogynists, sexists, xenophobe and more. These are the weapons and vitriol these character assassinations permanently hang on their targets because socialism feeds off manipulated victims,” LaPierre told the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

In his speech, he correctly pointed out that “European socialists” have infested the Democratic Party while noting that the Left uses groups like the “Occupy” movement, Black Lives Matter, and Antifa to sow “civil discourse” and “eliminate due process.”

“The elimination of due process is the very gold standard of the socialist state,” he said, describing calls to limit Americans’ access to guns with bans, idiotic waiting periods, and raising age limits for purchases “completely ridiculous.”

Because all of those measures have not worked so far.

You know what would work? Better school security featuring armed guards — real ones, not those old, overweight, heavy breathers on a pension you see in grocery store liquor departments and other places where business owners only want the appearance of added security. Or armed teachers. (Related: Student Says Armed Guards ‘Could Have Been a Major Difference’ in Florida school shooting.)

If we guarded our kids — our most precious national commodity — the same way we guarded our money, our celebrities and our sporting events, we’d have a lot fewer school shootings and far fewer dead children.

These are concrete solutions that the socialist-Marxist Left rejects out of hand. Almost as if they’d rather more of these shootings occur so they can continue to hammer their central theme of gun control, gun control, gun control! and vilify anyone who disagrees with that “solution.”

Or burn them like a Salem witch, which is what NRA representative and spokeswoman Dana Loesch was threatened with at a recent Alt-Left shoutfest sponsored by the Communist News Network.

LaPierre is spot-on but talking about it isn’t going to change anything. Professional agitators and the “mainstream” media are whipping up Left-leaning Americans into a frenzy — an inconsolable rage. And there is no talking to them.

They are right, we are wrong, and that’s all there is to it — is what they believe.

There is no dealing with people like that.
