The five men and one woman were at Geno’s Steaks in Philadelphia, USA, on June 11 when the incident reportedly took place around 4.15am.
According to police, one assault victim was struck in the face and body causing a cut to his face, while a second victim sustained similar injuries and a bloody nose.
A third victim was punched in the face but no injuries were reported.
Victim Patrick Kane said that he and his wife, Brooke, were at Geno’s after a wedding when a friend of his wife’s asked the group for a cigarette.
“That is when the guys just lost their minds,” says the 31-year-old, adding that one of the men said: “Don’t mess with us, we belong to ISIS.”
Brooke then told them the terrorism comment wasn’t funny and she too was hit, reports Philly.com.
“What went from putting hands on two girls became five guys attacking us,” Mr Kane added.
After the assault, which police have deemed too graphic to show on camera, the suspects allegedly fled the scene in two cars – a dark coloured pickup truck and an SUV – both with New Jersey license plates.
Philadelphia police say the woman was a getaway driver and are appealing for anyone with any more information about the attacks.
