Billionaire Mark Cuban announces hiatus on discussions about politics after Trump’s victory (and nobody cares)
By Zoey Sky // Dec 02, 2024

Billionaire Mark Cuban has claimed that he will no longer be posting about politics on social media after President-elect Donald Trump won the election.

"Just an FYI. Don't expect any politics or speculation about what might happen for a while. I'm sure there will be plenty to comment on when the time comes," Cuban wrote on social media platform Bluesky.

Cuban, 66, who is the partial owner of the Dallas Mavericks and a former "Shark Tank" investor, was outspoken about his support for Vice President Kamala Harris on the campaign trail. The billionaire was also vocal about his criticism of Trump in the lead-up to the election.

"In a normal world, the two parties would get together and say, 'Let's just stop this name-calling, right? Let's just focus on the issues,'" Cuban previously told ABC News' "This Week" co-anchor Jonathan Karl.

"But this is not a normal world. Donald Trump is not a normal candidate. And I think it's not a stretch to call Donald Trump a fascist," added Cuban. (Related: Mike Pompeo wants people to forget he legitimized lawfare against Trump.)

After the election, Cuban was quick to congratulate Trump on his win. The billionaire posted on X to declare that Trump had won "fair and square."

The former "Shark Tank" star even congratulated Trump's billionaire supporter Elon Musk for the victory, who Cuban previously suggested had a significant influence on the recently concluded election. In the past, he had claimed that the election was not between Trump and Harris, but between the vice president and Musk.

Following Trump's victory, Cuban has moved on to Bluesky, posting "Hello Less Hateful World" on the platform. Bluesky has claimed that it has seen a notable increase in new users joining in the week since the 2024 election.

After the election, Cuban deleted several of his pro-Harris posts on X. When someone brought it up, Cuban posted on X and claimed that he has a habit of revisiting and deleting tweets "Same with the 2020 election. 2016 election. Same with other stuff. You can use the wayback machine if you really want to see them."

Cuban was previously under fire for comments he made about Trump before the election

During his appearance on ABC's "The View" on Oct. 31, Cuban said Trump has "never" been around "strong and intelligent women."

However, his comments offended many, with some saying that his words were "insulting to women."

Cuban wrote on X and apologized to anyone who was offended because of his comment, adding that it "wasn't about Trump voters, supporters or employees – current or former."

The billionaire also responded to the level of hate he has been receiving online, as he has been dealing with backlash since he started endorsing Harris. Cuban said he was bothered by the comments that often had "some level of insult attached to it."

Cuban added that he isn't blaming anyone and that he is hoping the situation will change soon.
