Israeli economy brought to STANDSTILL as nationwide labor strike, protests seek to oust Netanyahu and his never-ending war in Gaza
By Ethan Huff // Sep 06, 2024

The most tumultuous time in Israel's history is here as the Jewish state descends into chaos over the Netanyahu regime's handling of the war in Gaza.

Upwards of 750,000-plus Israelis have taken to the street in protest after the bodies of six Israeli hostages were recovered from a Gaza tunnel. Netanyahu is refusing a hostage deal with Hamas in favor of a continued military operation which puts the remaining 100 Israeli captives in harm's way.

Many Israelis want the war to stop and for Israel to take back the hostages in a deal and call it a day. Peace and safety is what the people want, and until they get it, the entire Israeli economy is on standby.

"For 11 months, the Israeli government led by Netanyahu failed to do what a government is expected to do: return its sons and daughters home," said The Hostages and Missing Families Forum in a statement.

"A deal for the return of the abductees has been on the table for over two months. If it weren't for the thwarting [of the deal], the excuses, and the spins, the abductees whose deaths we learned of this morning would probably be alive."

Check out the video below showing nearly 300,000 Israeli protesters packed together at a major intersection in Tel Aviv. This horde of people wants Netanyahu to agree to a ceasefire:

Angry Israelis want Netanyahu gone

One of the hostages whose body was retrieved from the Gaza tunnel was an Israeli-American by the name of Hersh Goldberg-Polin. The others are Eden Yerushalmi, Ori Danino, Alex Lobanov, Carmel Gat, and Almog Sarusi."

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement claiming that Hamas killed these people moments before Israeli soldiers stormed the tunnels to rescue them. Health authorities agreed that all of the bodies were killed no longer than 72 hours before autopsy, with all of them showing evidence of having been executed at close range with multiple bullets.

Families of the victims are outraged to the point that they want Netanyahu ousted. Massive protests have overtaken not just Tel Aviv but also Jerusalem and other major cities as Israelis say enough is enough to Netanyahu and his war cabinet.

Hisadrut, Israel's largest labor union, also announced this week that there will be a general nationwide strike all across the Jewish state. This marks an unprecedented first since Oct. 7, 2023, when Netanyahu declared war in response to the Hamas attack.

The union strike is making it abundantly clear that a ceasefire deal is "more important than anything else" right now, this according to union head Arnon Bar-David who complained that Israel is "getting body bags instead of a deal."

For about eight hours on Monday, Israel's entire economy came to a screeching halt due to the protests. Workers shut down public services, tech firms and a variety of other businesses. They also blocked traffic at major intersections while pressuring the Netanyahu regime to change course.
