Within a week of being named as Kamala’s running mate, Tim Walz has been embroiled in MULTIPLE controversies
By Belle Carter // Aug 14, 2024

After Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz launched their campaign in Philadelphia on Aug. 6, pollsters and political analysts alike are claiming that the Democratic Party's new presidential ticket has been gaining "popularity."

However, this analysis belies the fact that Walz has been embroiled in controversy since the day his candidacy was announced.

Critics and conservative pundits are now reminding the public that Walz is plagued with controversies from his time in the House of Representatives, the Minnesota National Guard and as governor of the North Star State.

Having served over a decade in Congress before being elevated in 2019 to Minnesota's governorship, Walz has managed to fly under the national radar. Now that he's officially joined the 2024 Democratic Party's national ticket, multiple outlets have come out compiling all the scandals the governor has been entangled with through his decades-long career in politics and the military.

One major controversy that Americans must consider before casting their votes is when Walz had his hands soiled with a $250 million fraud scandal during the peak of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, when a nonprofit organized by Somali residents called Feeding Our Future embezzled the state funds meant to feed needy children.

Walz and officials from the Minnesota Department of Education have been accused of failing to enact adequate measures to prevent the embezzlement. He then moved to freeze any future payments to the group. It was revealed that at least 70 members of the state's Somali community were using the nonprofit to perpetrate the massive fraud scheme. However, after being accused of racism and discrimination, the governor reversed course on the payment freeze despite clear evidence of a crime

The Minnesota governor has also been a proponent of President Joe Biden's very loose migration policies. Walz is on record claiming he would invest in a ladder factory to aid illegals entering the country.

As governor, Walz has also pushed for so-called "sanctuary" policies in his state that protected illegal immigrants from deportation by the federal government to the point of signing legislation allowing illegal aliens to obtain driver's licenses in 2023. The hidden agenda, according to analysts, is that this measure could result in noncitizens voting illegally in federal elections.

The governor has also advocated for Minnesota's transformation into a haven for minors seeking gender alteration surgeries and even hormone treatments. Last year, he issued an executive order protecting access to so-called "gender-affirming care," where adults and children are ensured access to the said procedures.

His executive order also bars other state governments from taking "protective action" against Minnesota parents who help their children transition. The order effectively bans parents residing in other states from taking custody action against Minnesota-based parents while a child is undergoing medical transition.

Walz is NOT a good role model

The Democrats’ vice presidential pick has always boasted about his military record during his previous campaigns for different government positions. According to him, he chose to reenlist in the Minnesota Army National Guard following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, emphasizing that he was the highest-ranking enlisted service member ever to serve in the U.S. Congress for his rank of command sergeant major.

However, other guardsmen who served with or knew of Walz's service have now come forward questioning his rank. They point out that Walz's rank when he retired in 2005 was effectively that of master sergeant, not command sergeant major. They also alleged that while the governor had initially committed to a six-year term of duty when he reenlisted, he retired two months before his unit was told to prepare for deployment to Iraq. He also committed reckless driving in Nebraska in 1995. A state trooper clocked Walz traveling at 96 miles in a 55-mile-per-hour zone. Walz dismissed the allegations of speeding and drunk driving at the time.

But a court transcript from the case provided clear evidence that Walz was, in fact, drunk. According to the report, "a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was detected emitting from Mr. Walz['s] breath and person."

Despite being initially charged with driving under the influence, Walz was able to plead out to a lesser charge of reckless driving. A blood test that was administered to Walz at the time by law enforcement was subsequently suppressed. The court transcript released that Walz's blood alcohol level was .128, well above the legal limit.
