Not getting a fair shot: RFK Jr. to announce plan to run as INDEPENDENT, stresses DNC is RIGGING the primaries
By Kevin Hughes // Oct 05, 2023

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.) is expected to announce his plan to run as an independent candidate soon as the Democratic National Committee (DNC) does not want to give him a fair shot to be the Democratic presidential nominee.

A report by Mediaite confirmed this development, adding that Kennedy's campaign is now planning "attack ads" against the DNC ahead of the Oct. 9 announcement in Pennsylvania. An insider from the Kennedy campaign told the outlet in an interview: "[RFK Jr.] feels that the DNC is changing the rules to exclude his candidacy, so an independent run is the only way to go."

In a YouTube video posted on Sept. 29, the 69-year-old Kennedy teased a "major announcement" and denounced "corruption" in both the GOP and the Democratic Party. "How are we going to win against the established Washington interests? It's not through playing the game," he said in the video.

The nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy, who seeks to challenge incumbent President Joe Biden for the Democratic Party nomination, has been flirting with a third-party run in the last few weeks. A report by the New York Times said RFK Jr. met with Libertarian Party Chairwoman Angela McCardle, raising the possibility of a departure from the party that decades ago became identified with his family name. McCardle later said Kennedy did not commit to running as a presidential candidate under the Libertarian banner. While Kennedy still remains far behind Biden in surveys, it is uncertain whether RFK Jr. running as an independent would hurt the incumbent more than the Republican frontrunner, former President Donald Trump.

Polls actually show the GOP having a far more favorable opinion of Kennedy than Democrats, and conservative media has likewise been far more supportive of his campaign.

RFK Jr. denounces biased DNC in open letter

In July, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld suggested that RFK Jr. should run as a third-party candidate. "I think he should run as a third-party candidate because … [the Democratic Party's] radical elements, what we call the 'woke,' have embraced this fascist clampdown on language."

In a Sept. 13 open letter addressed to DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison and the rest of the committee's members, Kennedy claimed he wasn't getting a fair shot in his bid to become the party's presidential nominee. He alleged that the Democratic Party had "essentially merged into one unit" with the sole objective of reelecting Biden for a second term in the White House.

"Unfortunately, in recent years our party leaders have succumbed to the siren of control," Kennedy wrote. "They have compromised the defining democratic principle of one person, one vote through repeated interference in the primary elections. They have hijacked the party machinery and, in recent years, directed the power of censorship onto their political opponents, raising political victory onto the altar in place of honest democracy."

The White House aspirant also criticized the DNC for changing the primary calendar, limiting ballot access in Iowa and refusing to hold a Democratic primary debate.

"The DNC is not supposed to favor one candidate over another. It is supposed to oversee a fair, democratic selection process – and then support the candidate that its voters choose," added Kennedy. "It should be a party's voters who choose a candidate, not party insiders who anoint one."
