U.S. lawmakers introduce bill that allows government to STEAL Russian assets and give them to Ukraine
By JD Heyes // Jun 19, 2023

The U.S. government, under Joe Biden's handlers, is doing its level best to make as many global enemies as possible because doing so fuels the endless wars they so desperately want so they can continue feeding trillions to their beloved military-industrial complex.

"A bipartisan group of US lawmakers introduced a piece of legislation on Thursday that would give President Biden the power to confiscate frozen Russian Central Bank assets and send them to Ukraine," AntiWar.com reported this week.

"The Rebuilding Economic Prosperity and Opportunity (REPO) for Ukrainians Act was introduced in both the House and the Senate. According to the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the legislation would 'provide additional assistance to Ukraine using assets confiscated from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and other sovereign assets of the Russian Federation,'" the report continued.

The US Justice Department has granted authorization for the transfer of certain private Russian assets to Ukraine. However, if funds were to be taken from the Russian Central Bank, it would represent a notable escalation of Washington's economic conflict with Moscow.

Currently, the US and its allies have frozen hundreds of billions of dollars worth of assets belonging to the Russian Central Bank.

The legislation would also authorize and instruct Biden to “work with allies and partners to establish an international compensation mechanism to transfer confiscated or frozen Russian sovereign assets to assist Ukraine.”

This comes as some European nations have been talking up the idea of using Russian assets to provide more funds for Ukraine, to include investing Russian money in Western stock markets and giving the returns to Kyiv.

The measure would also provide the State Department “additional resources to work with partners and allies abroad toward the goal of confiscation of additional Russian sovereign assets in other countries.”

AntiWar.com added further:

The House version of the bill was introduced by Reps. Michael McCaul (R-TX), Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), Joe Wilson (R-SC), Thomas Kean Jr. (R-NJ), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) and Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL). In the Senate, the legislation was led by Senators Jim Risch (R-ID) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI).

Tucker Carlson recently did a Twitter video explaining how former President Donald Trump's opposition to the military-industrial complex during the 2016 campaign is likely what led to his arrest last week on fake allegations that he "mishandled" classified information.

"And you wonder as you see all of this, where did all the money go? It's certainly not here. Well, it's in Washington. It's in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties and in leafy, perfectly-manicured Northwest D.C. And of course a huge chunk of it went to Ukraine, to Zelensky and his friends. Not because you voted for that. You didn't vote to give it to them. You never would. But because Joe Biden and his many allies from Chuck Schumer to Mitch McConnell to Paul Ryan and to every single news anchor on all of television, all of them believe that Ukraine -- its borders, its future, its infrastructure are all more important than the town that you live in. They sincerely think that. And it's obvious," he said.

"Everyone in power thinks that, except for Donald Trump. Whatever else you say about him, Trump is the one guy with an actual shot of becoming president who dissents from Washington's longstanding pointless war agenda. And for that, that one fact, they are trying to take Trump out before you can vote for him. And that should upset you more than anything that's happened in American politics in your lifetime. Even if you don't plan to vote for Donald Trump, even if you would die before voting for Donald Trump, which is your right, and a lot of people feel that way, even still the destruction of our democracy which is the right of voters to support any candidate they want -- even candidates that don't want war with Russia -- the destruction of that should keep you up at night," Carlson added.

"Yes, Donald Trump is a flawed man but his sins are minor compared to those of his persecutors. In this life, we don't get to choose our martyrs. We can only choose our principles and America's are at stake," he said.
