Connecting the Dots: New House subcommittee to investigate federal agencies that gather information on Americans – Brighteon.TV
By Kevin Hughes // Feb 13, 2023

Dan Happel and Mark Herr talked about the new House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government (WFG) on the Feb. 7 episode of the Brighteon.TV program "Connecting The Dots."

Happel opened the discussion by playing a video of Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, discussing the formation of the House WFG Select Subcommittee. The Ohio congressman also chaired the new subcommittee, which would be under the bigger committee he oversees.

Business Insider reported that the Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted to establish the new subcommittee on Jan. 10. The entire GOP bloc voted 221-211 in favor of a resolution establishing the panel, while all Democratic lawmakers voted against its formation. According to Insider, "the panel will be authorized to investigate executive branch agencies, particularly intelligence agencies, that gather information on American citizens."

Herr, who is the co-founder and president of the non-profit Center for Self Governance (CSG) based in Washington state, told Happel that the House WFG Select Subcommittee has the same subpoena and oversight powers as the "Church Committee" of the 1970s.

The Church Committee – formally the Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities – was chaired by the late former Sen. Frank Church (D-ID). It scrutinized abuses by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), National Security Agency (NSA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) during its existence.

According to Herr, the House WFG Select Subcommittee had already subpoenaed Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray. The CGS president added that both officials are going to circumvent the subpoenas sent by the subcommittee.

Ultimately, he remarked that the House WFG Select Subcommittee opens an opportunity for Americans to make a difference. Herr invited Americans to reach out to the subcommittee to expose media outlets, non-government organizations, federal entities and law enforcement agencies being purposely manipulated by Washington, D.C. to do its bidding.

Herr: 432 agencies weaponized by the federal government

Happel mentioned that the powers that be are labeling and demonizing everything. These globalist technocrats trying to push humanity into a one-world government have overplayed their hand, he added.

"They've labeled anybody who believes in the U.S. as a constitutional republic … as the bad guys," Happel said. "And guess what? A lot of Americans are waking up to that reality and they are saying 'Enough is enough, these people are over the top.'"

Herr explained that the federal government pertains to the judicial, legislative and executive branches. The "weaponized" federal government for most, he added, would pertain to the FBI, its parent agency the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security. "But there's a lot more to our executive branch than meets the eye," Herr continued.

"First, there are about 432 departments which are the constitutional departments mentioned in the U.S. Constitution. Then there are bureaus and agencies, which are either attached to those departments or independent structures created by Congress, either in support of the departments or in support of some executive, law enforcement that Congress has given to the executive branch."

He added that these 432 federal departments, agencies and bureaus are placed within the executive branch under the president's oversight.
