Following Barack Obama’s first two years as president, his Democratic Party began an unprecedented decline in popularity, losing seats on the local, state, and federal level by the hundreds.
Then 2016 rolled around and Democrats – along with their propaganda division, the “mainstream” media – believed that their electoral fortunes were about to shift. Hillary Clinton was only running because she couldn’t simply be anointed president; there was no way she would ever lose to a reality TV show billionaire as brash as Donald Trump.
But she did, and convincingly. Not only that, but Republicans maintained control over the House and Senate while expanding their majorities in state races.
Democrats are sure again that after two years of POTUS Donald Trump, a “blue wave” will usher them back into power, at least in the House, where they can stop the president’s agenda cold and open up one investigation after another as ‘punishment’ for his victory.
But they can’t do it honestly: Democrats have been advised to be quiet about the things they want to do, such as roll back the GOP tax cuts, implement more open borders policies and attack the Second Amendment in ways not seen in recent years.
They can’t speak publicly about their party’s positions because they know they are not popular with a majority of Americans, even Democratic voters who would otherwise never support a GOP candidate.

In a memo obtained by the New York Times, left-wing consultants with the Center for American Progress and the think tank, Third Way, advised Democrats running for election to spend “as little time as possible” talking about the immigration issue facing the nation, where more than 1.5 million immigrants are admitted to the country every year.
“It is very difficult to win on immigration with vulnerable voters in the states Trump carried in 2016,” said the memo, noting further that “even the most draconian of Republican policies” like family separation and pushes to deport DACA recipients — illegal aliens brought to the United States as children — would not persuade most swing voters. ‘People just can’t know that’
First of all, it’s important to note that the Obama administration practiced the very same policy of family separation, as POTUS Trump pointed out in a supremely confident interview with “60 Minutes” that aired over the weekend. The difference is the disgustingly dishonest establishment press refuses to cover that. Secondly, if POTUS Trump won in 2016 on any single issue, it was his promises to build a border wall, end DACA, and push for more internal enforcement of immigration law.
As to the Democrats’ strategy of being dishonest about issues they know they cannot win on, it was exposed recently by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas, whose undercover journalists captured Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill and staff admitting the incumbent doesn’t talk about how they really feel about immigration (open borders) and the Second Amendment (gun control).

Missouri is a red state — POTUS Trump won it easily. So on these issues, McCaskill has to pretend to be the ‘moderate Democrat’ who supports the Second Amendment and border security. In addition to catching her in frank discussions about her real positions on these issues, O’Keefe’s undercover journalists also caught McCaskill staffers on video claiming she only appears ‘moderate’ to win Republican votes.
On the video, McCaskill talks about supporting various gun control measures.
“Universal background checks, all of that… But if we have the kind of year I think we might have I think we could actually be in a position to get votes on this stuff on the floor and we’d get 60 [votes]…” she says, adding that “of course” she would also support banning bump stocks and high-capacity magazines.
She also did not want Obama to campaign for her because, though she agrees with him on all of these issues, she knows he would be a liability for her in the Show-Me State.
Asked one undercover PV journalist of Obama and McCaskill, “…[T]hey essentially have the same views on everything?”
Staffer Nicolas Starost replies: “Yeah. People just can’t know that.”
