How to stop a mass shooter: Shoot back!

The shooting that occurred in Sutherland Springs, Texas recently was an absolute tragedy. Because of a deranged, unremorseful killer who stepped into the First Baptist Church with a gun on Tuesday, 26 people are now dead and 24 others are injured.

The shooter, 26-year-old Devin Patrick Kelley, has since been described by former classmates as “creepy,” “crazy” and “weird.” One of these former classmates is Patrick Boyce, who told DailyMail.com, “He had a kid or two, fairly normal, but kinda quiet and lately seemed depressed.”

“He was the first atheist I met. He went Air Force after high school, got discharged but I don’t know why,” Boyce continued, adding, “I was just shocked [to hear the news]. Still haven’t quite processed how he could have done that.”

Like Patrick, millions of Americans across the country are still trying to process the shooting as well, which is now being called the worst attack in Texas’ history. The victims ranged in age from 5 to 72, and sadly, many of the ones who were shot were young children.

Not long after Kelley began opening fire on the church-goers with his Ruger-AR556 rifle (which he had previously bragged about on social media just days before), a 55-year-old man by the name of Stephen Willeford grabbed his own rifle and started to return fire. Immediately after the killer realized that someone was actually shooting back and that his own life was in danger, he attempted to flee inside of an SUV but was found dead by law enforcement moments later.

Although the cause of death is still unknown, officials say that Kelley more than likely died by shooting himself or from the gun shot wounds inflicted by the man who decided to grab his own rifle and fight back.

Yet instead of praising 55-year-old Stephen Willeford for putting the massacre to an end, and instead of taking some much needed time to pray for the victims and their families, the progressive left is chomping at the bit to turn this entire tragedy into another one of their lectures on gun control. (Related: Leftists are lying about gun control by failing to mention that the vast majority of gun deaths in America are suicides.)

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, being the radical Marxist that he is, took to Twitter after the tragedy to not only urge congressional Republicans to “do something,” but also, shockingly, to condemn those who offered their thoughts and prayers for the victims. “We have pastors, priests and rabbis to offer thoughts and prayers,” the New York Governor wrote. “What we need from Republicans in D.C. is to do something. Lead.” (Related: Gun control is incredibly popular among people who live under tyranny – don’t they get it?)

And of course, by “lead,” Andrew Cuomo, and virtually every other leftist in the country, means “get the American people to give up their Second Amendment rights and enact sweeping gun control from coast to coast.” They typically disguise their radical anti-gun agenda behind bumper sticker phrases like, “it’s just common sense” or “do it for the children,” but make no mistake – liberals like Andrew Cuomo will never settle for anything less than full force, widespread gun control.

Thankfully, we have a commander-in-chief that understands that more gun control laws are not the answer. Speaking at a news conference in South Korea, President Trump explained that stricter regulations on firearms would have made “no difference” in the recent attack in Sutherland Springs, Texas.

“You might not have had that very brave person who happened to have a gun or a rifle in his truck go out and shoot him and hit him and neutralize him,” Trump said, adding that if the man didn’t have a gun of his own, then the killer could have potentially killed far more people than 26.

Our thoughts and our prayers are with the victims and their families.
