As the country learns more about the lone-wolf jihadist who mowed down bicyclists in New York City this week with a rented truck, Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton tweeted a reminder that current special counsel Robert Mueller may bear some responsibility for the attack.
As reported by The Gateway Pundit, Fitton said, “Mueller Worked with Radical Islamists to Purge Anti-Terrorism Training Material Offensive to Muslims.”
The purges came when Mueller was serving as FBI director in the immediate years following the 9/11 attacks, the deadliest terrorist attack ever in the history of the U.S.
According to a press release, “Judicial Watch had to sue to get the records and published an in-depth report on the scandal in 2013 and a lengthier, updated follow-up in 2015.”

In May of this year, Judicial Watch reported:
The agency eliminated the valuable anti-terrorism training material and curricula after Mueller met with various Islamist organizations, including those with documented ties to terrorism. Among them were two organizations— Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR)—named by the U.S. government as unindicted co-conspirators in the 2007 Holy Land Foundation terrorist financing case. CAIR is a terrorist front group with extensive links to foreign and domestic Islamists. It was founded in 1994 by three Middle Eastern extremists (Omar Ahmad, Nihad Awad and Rafeeq Jaber) who ran the American propaganda wing of Hamas, known then as the Islamic Association for Palestine.
The legal watchdog reported further that records it obtained as part of the lawsuit showed that Mueller, who served 12 years as head of the FBI, met with those Islamist organizations on Feb. 8, 2012, in order to hear their demands. A short time later Mueller assured the groups that he ordered the removal of all presentations and other materials on Islam for every FBI office around the country. The former director’s bureau also said that all terrorism training documents contained information that was “highly inflammatory” to the Muslim Brotherhood, which is a known supporter of terrorism, which deemed the materials inappropriate for the FBI to use.
“According to Judicial Watch, the FBI’s anti-terrorism training materials relied on an article stating Al Qaeda is responsible for the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing,” The Gateway Pundit reported.
“The Qur’an is not the teachings of the Prophet, but the revealed word of God; Sweeping generality of ‘Those who fit the terrorist profile best (for the present at least) are young male immigrants of Middle Eastern appearance;’ conflating Islamic Militancy with terrorism,” stated the FBI.
Throughout the Obama administration, various federal agencies have gone out of their way not to “insult” Muslims and the Islamic faith, despite the fact that radicalized Muslims are responsible for 100 percent of the terrorist attacks in the U.S. and Europe since the turn of the 21st century.
Whether it was President Obama refusing to use the term “radical Islam” to describe terrorists, or federal law enforcement agencies ridding their materials of the terms, experts note that failing to call radical Islam what it is is not just political correctness run amok, it’s dangerous because most often the policies Obama adopted enabled attacks.
As for Obama, he was asked once during a townhall-style meeting shortly before the November election why he didn’t use the term.
“Hi, Mr. President. As a gold star mother, my son gave his life for acts of terrorism. Do you still believe that the acts of terrorism are done for the self-proclaimed Islamic religious motive? And if you do, why do you still refuse to use the term racially — I’m sorry, Islamic terrorist?” asked a woman by the name of Tina Houchins.
“…[W]hat I have been careful about when I describe these issues is to make sure that we do not lump these murderers into the billion Muslims that exist around the world, including in this country, who are peaceful, who are responsible, who in this country, are our fellow troops and police officers and firefighters and teachers and neighbors and friends,” Obama said during a tortured explanation.
