Initially, the War on Christmas seemed like an inside joke at best and a huge scam at worst. Over the years, though, there has been more and more evidence piling up that proves that the Regressive Left really is going to great lengths in order to pressure people to stop saying, “Merry Christmas.” Before you roll your eyes too hard, consider what recently happened in Knightstown, Indiana.

The leftists went far out of their way to try and ruin the most wonderful time of the year for the town’s residents for no other reason than to try and destroy the enjoyability of Christmas.

Rachel Stoltzfoos of The Daily Caller reports, “The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a lawsuit on behalf of a town resident alleging the placement of the lit up cross on top of the town Christmas tree is an unconstitutional violation of church and state, a local outlet reported. Afraid they would lose the lawsuit and be forced to pay expensive legal fees, the town council voted to remove the cross for good.”

You have to wonder what would possibly inspire a group of people to try and remove a cross from a Christmas tree without any reasonable excuse, but this is the kind of thing that unions are known for. It only makes sense that they would waste their holiday trying to ruin the fun for everybody else. This is their M.O. at this point.

Thankfully, there are a lot of ways to fight back — and furthermore, we are still winning. The average American seems more than happy to celebrate Christmas, wish their peers a Merry Christmas and defend the rights of those who want to decorate their trees with crosses. Even those who believe in a separation of church and state are often willing to let things slide for the sake of having an enjoyable holiday. It’s just the uptight people on the left that prevent this from becoming a reality.

Prepare yourselves, people. They have been coming after speech for years and now they are coming after religion. They will not be satisfied until they have completely destroyed the traditional American way of life. Every inch we give them, they will take a mile, so it is time to stop allowing them any headway in this cultural battle. It is time to fight for what we believe in. America must remain a free country. An actual free country.
