Study Links Depression to Cellular Energy Dysfunction, Not Just Chemical Imbalance

A study published in March 2026 in Translational Psychiatry has identified a link between depression and abnormalities in how cells produce energy, according to researchers at the University of Queensland and the University of Minnesota.
