RFK Jr. campaign ad calls on Americans to VOTE FOR TRUMP and “finish the story”
By Ramon Tomey // Sep 03, 2024

The campaign team of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.), who suspended his presidential candidacy in August, has released a new advertisement urging Americans to vote for former President Donald Trump on Election Day.

Nicole Shanahan, the independent candidate's running mate, released this ad in an Aug. 31 post on X. "Finish the story," she captioned, pointing to the legacy first established by the late President John F. Kennedy (JFK) and the late former U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy Sr. (RFK Sr.) – RFK Jr.'s uncle and father. This legacy, which began decades ago, would hopefully be continued by Trump.

The almost four-minute advertisement showed "a striking visual journey through American history," according to YourNews. It commenced with archival footage of the late former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who warned about the growing influence of the so-called "military-industrial complex."

It then showed iconic clips of JFK delivering inspirational speeches that called for unity and hope in America – which were juxtaposed with his 1963 assassination in Dallas at the hands of Lee Harvey Oswald. The ad also showcased RFK Sr.'s rise as a beacon of hope, with the then-U.S. senator for New York running for the Democratic nomination. But just like his brother, RFK Sr.'s life was cut short when Sirhan Sirhan assassinated him in 1968.

The ad showed a young RFK Jr. in a poignant moment at his father's funeral, mourning the loss of RFK Sr. – a champion for civil rights and social justice. It then transitioned to the present, with RFK Jr. standing alongside Trump during the latter's campaign rally in Phoenix. RFK Jr. publicly declared his support for the real estate mogul's 2024 presidential bid.

"Throughout the ad, the music playing is 'The Chain' by Fleetwood Mac, a haunting melody with the refrain: 'You would never break the chain,' symbolizing the enduring legacy and the connection between the Kennedys and Trump," YourNews noted.

Arama: Voting for Trump FINISHES THE STORY

Shanahan followed up the Aug. 31 post with a meme on Sept. 1. The image she posted featured the elder Kennedy brothers on top with the caption "They started it," while the bottom image featured RFK Jr. and Trump with the caption "They'll finish it." According to YourNews, the meme emphasizes "the idea that Trump's presidency could be the fulfillment of the Kennedy vision."

Another ad released by the RFK Jr. campaign with Shanahan at the helm imitated pharmaceutical commercials. In the aforementioned ad, "independence" was humorously prescribed as a cure for "Trump Derangement Syndrome" – further pushing the narrative of breaking free from traditional political allegiances. It also referenced RFK Jr.'s opposition to Big Pharma, which makes use of its close government ties to further its interests.

Red State contributor Nick Arama commented on the new ad in a Sept. 1 piece for the outlet. According to him, the ad – which now boasts more than three million views – has been described as "very compelling by many." Arama also noted the stark difference between the Democrats of today and the Democrats of the past.

"Now historically, my family was critical of [JFK] and [RFK Sr.] because they were flawed people and they had flawed policies as Democrats. But it's astonishing to think now, in today's politics, JFK probably would be considered center-right for what he thought and how he fought communism."

Arama further expounded that despite RFK Jr. and Trump's differences and disagreements in politics, both men are in the same boat on one major issue – "the need to fight the powers that would seek to control us and undermine our constitutional freedoms." He concluded: "Upending the Democrats' authoritarianism and protecting our freedoms with Trump in office would be a great way to "finish the story.'
