Biden launches massive “pride” media campaign blitz to attract LGBTQ+ voters
By Laura Harris // Jun 10, 2024

President Joe Biden's 2024 re-election campaign has kicked off June's LGBTQI+ "Pride Month" with a massive paid media and on-the-ground organizing blitz to attract non-heterosexual-identifying voters.

The monster voter initiative, named "Out for Biden-Harris," will have a presence at over 200 Pride events across 23 states, including all battleground states, in an attempt to defeat the presumed Republican candidate, former president Donald Trump.

Vice President Kamala Harris first introduced the initiative in May on Instagram, where she quoted gay rights activist and former San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in California, and praised Biden's commitment to LGBT rights. (Related: Biden White House attacks Republicans for modest restrictions on LGBT ‘pride’ flags.)

In line with this, Biden proclaimed "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex Pride Month, 2024" on May 31 to express his unwavering allegiance to every conceivable demand of the "woke" LGBTQI+ community.

"I signed the historic Respect for Marriage Act, which protects the marriage of same-sex and interracial couples. As Commander-in-Chief, I was proud to have ended the ban on transgender Americans serving in the United States military," said Biden.

"We ended the disgraceful practice of banning gay and bisexual men from donating blood," he continued. "We are doing this work here at home and around the globe where LGBTQI+ community members are fighting for recognition of their fundamental human rights [sic] and seeking to live full lives, free from hate-fueled violence and discrimination."

Biden urged the public "to wave their flags of pride high" and concluded that his administration is in support of transgender children and the broader LGBTQI+ community.

Meanwhile, Harris met with approximately 150 LGBTQI+ activists in Los Angeles on June 1. Concurrently, First Lady Jill Biden attended the annual Pride festival in Pittsburgh, where she declared that the LGBTQI+ community is under attack and Trump and the Republicans are to blame.

"This community is under attack. Donald Trump is a bully to the LGBTQ community, to our families, to our country. We cannot let him win," Jill Biden said.

Joe and Jill Biden are also scheduled to host a pro-LGBTQI+ fundraiser in New York City this month.

Biden's campaign trying to rekindle support from the LGBT community

The Biden campaign has been employing fear tactics by focusing on so-called "Christian nationalist ideals" to rekindle support from homosexual and transgender-identifying individuals.

For instance, the campaign claims that "attacking LGBT-identifying Americans and taking away their [so-called] rights" is a fundamental aspect of Project 2025, the conservative Heritage Foundation’s agenda for a second Trump term.

Specifically, the LGBT-focused newspaper the Washington Blade highlighted proposals within Project 2025, which include removing non-discrimination protections for LGBT-identifying Americans; overturning same-sex marriage and protections against anti-sodomy laws; reversing Title IX to eliminate protections for transgender-identifying students; banning and expelling transgender-identifying military members; banning certain books; restricting IVF and surrogacy; and appointing more judges who are likely to roll back LGBT rights.

"LGBTQ+ Americans couldn’t have more at stake this election: Donald Trump and his extremist allies are running to gut LGBTQ+ rights and erase history as their top priorities. LGBTQ+ Americans deserve leaders who will fight for every American’s freedom and dignity. That’s what President Biden and Vice President Harris have done throughout their time in office, and what they will do if reelected, including pressing Congress to pass the Equality Act."

"There has never been a more critical time to protect the rights of all Americans, no matter who you love or how you identify, and Out for Biden-Harris will be critical to not just safeguarding, but strengthening the rights and voice of every single American," Biden-Harris 2024 Campaign Manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in April.
