5,000 ILLEGALS are being released in the U.S. daily, DHS tells Congress
By Richard Brown // Dec 14, 2023

Officials with the Biden administration's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) privately told Congress that 5,000 illegal immigrants are being released into the mainland U.S. daily.

Fox News disclosed this alarming observation, citing congressional sources. According to tipsters, DHS officials shared this find with the Arizona congressional delegation, the judiciary committees of both the Senate and the House of Representatives, and the homeland security committees of both houses of Congress.

DHS staffers said a staggering 670,000 individuals, categorized as "gotaways," managed to evade Border Patrol during the fiscal year 2023. Moreover, 5,000 illegals on average were released into the U.S. daily. According to Fox News, the illegals are released to non-governmental organizations that assist them in reaching their destinations – posing a significant challenge to immigration enforcement efforts. If this trend persists, it would mean that approximately 1.8 million illegal migrants could be released into the U.S. over a year.

Fox News also highlighted a recent record-breaking day for Border Patrol encounters, exceeding 12,000 people. This followed an already unprecedented 2.4 million encounters throughout the fiscal year 2023, with an all-time monthly high of over 260,000 in September. The staggering numbers continued to climb, with over 440,000 encounters reported since Oct. 1, marking the beginning of the new fiscal year.

Moreover, the report shed light on another concerning aspect of the situation. On average, 1,600 migrants are processed and released daily using humanitarian parole under the CBP One app at ports of entry. The migrants hail from more than 150 countries, underscoring the global nature of the immigration challenge.

When questioned about the collaboration with Mexico to address the flow of migrants, DHS officials expressed a focus on the "safety and security of noncitizens." They specifically noted concerns about individuals risking their safety by riding trains illegally. However, no specific details were provided regarding preventive measures to stop migrants from boarding trains in the first place.

Republicans push for BORDER SECURITY

Republican lawmakers have long emphasized the importance of border security, urging the Biden administration to take decisive action to address the ongoing challenges. Rep. Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ), representing a border district in Arizona significantly impacted by illegal crossings, criticized the DHS's decision to shut down an international port of entry.

In an exclusive interview with the Washington Examiner, Ciscomani described the closure as a "lose-lose" situation, adversely affecting individuals with homes on both sides of the border who rely on crossings for various reasons, including medical needs, education, and commerce. The congressman highlighted the negative repercussions of closing the Lukeville port, citing a halt in trade, and tourism, and a substantial decrease in sales for businesses on the U.S. side.

The issue of border security has become a contentious point of contention between Republicans and the Biden administration, particularly as the administration seeks financial aid for Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia.

Many GOP lawmakers have taken a firm stance, declaring that they will not support aid to Ukraine without concurrent funding to enhance border security. In a recent vote, senators rejected Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's (D-NY) proposal for $111 billion in foreign spending, falling short of the required 60 votes needed to advance the request. Schumer expressed disappointment with the results, urging GOP colleagues to take the matter seriously.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has advised fellow Republicans to withhold support for Ukraine aid until "meaningful changes to the border" are implemented. Before the vote, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) asserted that securing the border should be a priority for the White House, opening the door for constructive discussions with lawmakers in Congress.
