Low-IQ Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defends low-IQ Jamaal Bowman who claims he was too stupid to know that pulling a fire alarm wasn’t the correct way to open a door
By Ethan Huff // Oct 06, 2023

There is a whole lot of stupidity happening in our nation's capital – what else is new? – as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is going to bat for fellow squad member Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) who pulled the fire alarm while "rushing Saturday to get to a vote."

That vote had to do with funding the Washington, D.C., political machine – but why? Would not we all be better off if these fools disappeared entirely? – which prompted the right wing to accuse the left wing of trying to delay a vote on the spending bill.

Since there was no actual fire, Bowman claimed that he simply got confused and thought pulling the fire alarm was how he could open the door. And AOC backed him up, stating that Bowman simply made a mistake.

Instead of addressing Bowman's behavior directly, AOC redirected the conversation at Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.), an openly gay member of the GOP whom Vanity Fair described as "a serial fabulist ... and at worst a criminal fraudster and con man."

"They are protecting someone who has lied to the American people," AOC said about the Republican Party providing cover for Santos. "But they're filing a motion to expel a member who in a moment of panic was trying to escape a vestibule? Give me a break."

(Related: Remember back in 2019 when not a single Democrat voted for AOC's proposed "Green New Deal," proving that none of them actually believed in it despite rhetoric to the contrary?)

Bowman could be out anyway next fall if AIPAC finds a challenger who is more supportive of Israel

According to those close to Bowman, the guy was embarrassed by his "confusion" and is cooperating with investigators who are looking into the matter further. Still, Republicans are not happy and really want the security video of what Bowman actually did to be released.

Keep in mind that Bowman could face a formidable primary challenge in the next election from Westchester County Executive George Latimer, a "proven vote-getter," according to Politico, who more closely aligns with AIPAC's position on Israel.

"I'm interested if AIPAC says anything," one House staffer who asked to remain anonymous is quoted as saying. "And it's not like (Bowman) was the most popular figure previously."

Latimer says he will probably not announce a decision either way about running against Bowman until at least mid-November as he and others await the outcome of a redistricting process that could alter the lines in key Hudson Valley races.

Back to AOC, though: she says that Bowman's apology for the fire alarm incident amid all the chaos of the spending bill vote should be enough, especially since Republicans are not doing anything about Santos.

"[Republicans] are protecting someone who has not only committed wire fraud, not only defrauded veterans, not only lied to congressional investigators, but is openly gloating about it, is absolutely humiliating to the Republican caucus," she said, adding that Republicans "should really check their own values."

In the comments over at Fox News, someone wrote that Bowman should have to reimburse "for not only that emergency response cost but also for all the productive working man hours lost due to evacuation."

"However, there are no productive working hours occurring in that building," he further joked about the uselessness of the corrupt American Congress.

Another agreed, stating that he cannot even remember the last time "Congress did anything productive except to go on summer break."

"Careful what you wish for," responded another. "Do you really want a Congress that's more 'productive?'"
