DISTURBING NEWS ON FOOD INFLATION & FOOD SHORTAGES

Reports are coming out with increasing frequency now that they MSM can no longer hide the truth, although they are still trying their hardest to spin it in a way that protects Dementia Joe Biden from the consequences of his policies like the good little sycophants they are.

On top of all the other issues we have been documenting over the past two years, these newer issues are disturbing to say the least.

Each report details an individual story, but when seen together, the picture is becoming clear: The supply chain crises are hitting critical mass.

Breitbart reports on a new Moody's forecast, which increased another projection made in March by Bloomberg, stating "President Biden’s 40-year-high inflation will cost American households on average an extra $5,520 in 2022, or $460 per month, a Moody’s analysts projected."

The "Bidenflation" has caused Americans to make significant changes to their spending habits:

• 42% are changing how they shop for groceries. This includes opting for cheaper items, avoiding brand names, and buying only the essentials.

• 46% are either dining out less or consciously spending less when dining out.

• 31% are driving less to offset the soaring cost of gas.

• 23% are spending less on vacations or canceling them altogether.

• 22% are taking measures such as canceling subscriptions to the gym, cable, etc.

On June 15, 2022 we saw reports of thousands upon thousands of cattle dying in Kansas, while just days before Smithfield Foods published a press release about closing a Vernon, CA facility, and reducing hog production in the Western region.

SMITHFIELD, Va., June 10, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Smithfield Foods, Inc. today announced that it will cease all harvest and processing operations in Vernon, California in early 2023 and, at the same time, align its hog production system by reducing its sow herd in its Western region. The company will decrease its sow herd in Utah and is exploring strategic options to exit its farms in Arizona and California. Smithfield harvests only company-owned hogs in Vernon. Smithfield will service customers in California with its Farmer John brand and other brands and products from existing facilities in the Midwest.

Smithfield is taking these steps due to the escalating cost of doing business in California.

Both the loss of cattle, along with the upcoming issue of Smithfield Pork reduction and the closing of the Vernon facility, will all further affect the price of meats.

As it stands, in an April 2022 report we see the "Consumer Price Index (CPI) for food increased by 7% from January 2021 to January 2022."

One of the most noticeable increases was in the meat category, which incurred a 13.6% increase. Beef, specifically, increased by 16% and pork was not far behind with a 14.1% increase.

Even geographical locations not seeing a meat shortage, are seeing price hikes, which are about to get exponentially worse when the affects from the loss of beef and pork are felt.

One reader sent images of a full meat section in one store, while mentioning seeing shortages in another store, and in trying to prepare for what is coming, has stocked his freezer full whenever seeing a sale on meat, saying in an email "Though I didn't buy much this trip, it still cost me over $70 - that's called "going broke saving money!"

News Nation reported on an interview with a fourth generation farmer, who said that high prices consumers are seeing at the grocery stores will be replaced by more empty shelves.

Breitbart offers a quote from the interview:

And it goes far beyond the gas pump: Eggs are up 32 percent, poultry is up 16.6 percent, milk is up 15.9 percent and fats and oils are up 16.9 percent, Axios reports. Overall, the cost of food is up about 12 percent — the largest increase since 1979.

The foods listed above are all foods we warned would see skyrocketing prices and those increases are continuing, so a few links below.
