Not all that long ago, American leftists were ripping into Donald Trump for being an "authoritarian" (though he wasn't) and blasting corporations for making decisions based on the best interests of investors and profit margins, but all of that changed after the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Now, the old hippies, many of whom dominate academia and the Democratic Party leadership, and their followers are pro-government vaccine and mask mandates and support any corporation that requires its workforce to take an experimental, harmful vaccine, though many of them also used to rail against companies like Monsanto that pushed poisonous chemicals and developed harmful GMO foods.
Case in point: The left-wing backlash against a left-wing corporation -- Starbucks -- after its CEO decided to ditch a vaccine mandate once the U.S. Supreme Court ruled earlier this month that the Biden regime did not have the authority to issue it for private businesses.
Earlier this month, the company announced that its 220,000 employees would be required to get the vaccine or be subject to weekly negative COVID tests in order to continue their employment. But then came the high court's 6-3 ruling against the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) vaccine and testing mandate, which lead the company to reverse course.
"We respect the court's ruling and will comply," Starbucks Chief Operating Officer John Culver wrote in a memo to workers.
Well, that reversal sparked outrage among the formerly anti-big government, anti-corporate establishmentarian left, which now backs mandates and supports companies that force workers to get a vaccine they don't need and don't want, just to have a job.
"For over a decade, leftists have tried to dictate to Starbucks how to run their business, including telling them they must disallow open carry in their stores," 100 Percent Fed Up reports. "The anti-freedom to choose crowd (that still believes it’s a woman’s right to choose if she wants to take the life of her baby), is losing their collective minds over Starbuck’s decision to allow their workers to decide if they’re going to be vaccinated (or not)."
Here are some of the unhinged responses to Starbucks' decision posted to social media:
"I hope y’all are for real about this bc the line at my #Starbucks is way too long every morning and this would be a blessing," one person wrote.

"Starbucks is going back on their word announcing they will NOT require workers to be vaccinated & will NOT require the employees making your food & drinks to have a negative COVID test. They might as well print on their cups 'f**k our customers & their health' #BoycottStarbucks," said another user.
