Fraud, negligence and criminal acts: A closer look at Pfizer’s scandalous history
By Mary Villareal // Apr 21, 2022

The potential dangers of mass vaccination campaigns have often been ignored. Government leaders and health officials also say nothing about the real dangers that are inherent in the drug companies that are profiting from the vaccination campaigns.

Pfizer, which provides a significant bulk of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine for Americans, has been known for its corrupt and wrong practices – with a laundry list of fraud, negligence and other criminal acts to its name.

Just over a decade ago, Pfizer paid a hefty $2.3 billion fine after pleading guilty to illegally promoting the drugs Geodon, Zyvox, Bextra and Lyrica by way of physician kickbacks and fraudulent claims. I was one of the largest healthcare fraud settlements in history.

With Pfizer's potential for bias and conflicts of interest, it has come to people's attention that true informed consent requires transparency of the research and development involved in vaccine manufacturing.

Perhaps the lack of transparency is why many have been skeptical about the COVID-19 vaccines for individuals as early as age five. If one considers Pfizer's long history of fraud and criminal acts, the issue of transparency becomes much more relevant. Nigerian children used as guinea pigs

In 1996, Pfizer administered an experimental drug, Trovan, during a clinical trial in 200 children in Nigeria. The pharmaceutical giant never told the parents that their children were considered subjects of an experiment. Eleven of the children died, while many others suffered side effects that included brain damage and organ failure.

A report from the Nigerian health ministry said the experiment was "an illegal trial of an unregistered drug," "a clear case of exploitation of the ignorant" and a violation of Nigerian and international laws.

The drug was approved in the U.S. a year later for use by adults, not by children. Two years later, the Food and Drug Administration warned that the drug could cause liver damage and has since been discontinued.

A Pfizer spokesman in New York, Bryant Haskins, said the drug was administered in accordance with Nigerian law. He said the allegations against the company were highly inflammatory and were not based on all the facts.

"We continue to maintain that the Nigerian government was fully informed in advance of the clinical trial; that the trial was conducted appropriately, ethically and with the best interests of patients in mind; and that it helped save lives," Haskins insisted. Pfizer also said it obtained "verbal consent" from the parents of the affected children and that the drugs were administered properly. However, a disease specialist for the company said that the drug was not tested "for its sensitivity before the first child was exposed to a live-or-die experiment."

Human rights groups also accused some drug companies of using Africa as a testing ground for medicines and drugs that have not been approved by Europe or the United States.

Africans have every reason to be suspicious of Pfizer, as the company's history of doing medical experiments on Black people for profit has been ongoing for years.

This is a legacy of the colonial view of "The Colony as Laboratory" for Western powers, and foreign drug trials are usually conducted in the "Third World" or developing countries because they are cheaper and faster. Moreover, they provide huge pools of human guinea pigs for experimenting with minimal red tape or regulation.

Drug companies have treated the lives of Africans with lesser concern in previous treatments, most notably in AIDS testing on infected pregnant women. These unethical human experiments remain to be a denial of intrinsic equal worth and value of human life for Big Pharma companies like Pfizer.
