Democrats push to DEPLATFORM Fox, OANN and Newsmax from all cable providers
By Ethan Huff // Mar 17, 2021

Reps. Anna Eshoo and Jerry McNerney, both California Democrats, have written a letter to a dozen cable, satellite and stream companies calling on them to combat "disinformation" by blocking all customer access to Fox News, Newsmax, and One America News Network (OANN).

Stopping short of calling for a full-on dropping of these channels, the letter from Eshoo and McNerney claims that these "purported news outlets have long been misinformation rumor mills and conspiracy theory hotbeds that produce content that leads to real harms."

For years, Fox News was the network of choice for President Donald Trump because it gave him favorable coverage. That changed, however, after Fox flipped to the other side of the coin and became a propaganda mouthpiece similar to CNN or MSNBC.

Eshoo and McNerney both want answers as to whether or not AT&T, Verizon, Roku, Amazon, Apple, Comcast, Dish, Charter, Cox, Altice USA, Alphabet (Google) and Hulu are planning to continue streaming Fox, OANN and Newsmax in violation of their request.

"Are you planning to continue carrying Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN [fill in the platform] on TV both now and beyond any contract renewal date? If so, why?" part of the questionnaire from Eshoo and McNerney reads.

Since there is apparently nothing better for politicians to do than try to implement a nationwide Ministry of Truth for the masses, this letter from Eshoo and McNerney is making the rounds, trying to pressure media platforms to censor certain media content mounts.

"What moral or ethical principles (including those related to journalistic integrity, violence, medical information, and public health) do you apply in deciding which channels to carry or when to take adverse actions against a channel?" another question reads.

"How many of your subscribers tuned in to Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN on [Fill in the company's distribution platforms] for each of the four weeks preceding the Nov. 3, 2020 elections and the Jan. 6, 2021 attacks on the Capitol?" reads yet another. "Please specify the number of subscribers that tuned in to each channel."

American politicians have almost all become authoritarian tyrants who serve globalism

Similar to what Twitter did to its political opposition, Eshoo and McNerney are trying to impose authoritarian restrictions on the public release of content that they personally deem to be objectionable.

These two political goons want to know why more was not done by media providers to "monitor, respond to, and reduce the spread of disinformation, including encouragement or incitement of violence" prior to, on and after the Nov. 3 sham election.

"Please describe each step that you took and when it was taken," their letter demands of the aforementioned 12 media providers.

"Have you taken any adverse actions against a channel, including Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN, for using your platform to disseminate disinformation related directly or indirectly to the Nov. 3, 2020 elections, the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection, or COVID-19 misinformation," the letter goes on to ask.

This ridiculous letter was sent just prior to a hearing on the role of traditional media in "promoting disinformation and extremism." It is clearly all a coordinated attack on free speech and the First Amendment, which has come to be expected from the American political establishment.

"For individual members of Congress to highlight political speech they do not like and demand cable distributors engage in viewpoint discrimination sets a terrible precedent," responded Fox News to the letter.

Newsmax issued a similar response, noting that this "attack on free speech and basic First Amendment rights should send chills down the spines of all Americans."

"Newsmax reported fairly and accurately on allegations and claims made by both sides during the recent election contest," the outlet added.
