Former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich accused Democrats of trying to “steal the presidency” in a segment on Hannity on Thursday night, delivering what may have been the strongest remarks against alleged election improprieties from a national Republican Party official.

“The Philadelphia machine is corrupt. The Atlanta machine is corrupt. The machine in Detroit is corrupt. They’re trying to steal the presidency, and we should not allow them to do that…”
Newt called for federal authorities to arrest and jail those engaging in alleged election law violations.
“You stop somebody from being an observer? You broke federal law. You hide and put up paper so nobody can see what you’re doing? You just broke federal law. You bring in ballots that aren’t real? You just broke federal law… You are watching an effort to steal the presidency of the United States.”
“I am sick and tired of corrupt left-wing Democrats who believe we too timid and easy to intimidate, therefore, ‘let us go out and steal it…’ No one should have any doubt. You are watching an effort to steal the presidency of the United States.”
“Do the American people have the right in an honest election to pick their leader? Or are we now just sheep to be dominated by the high-tech businesses, the news media, the various political machines, and we’re just supposed to surrender.”
Gingrich went on to describe the uncertainty surrounding the election as a national crisis akin to the Battle of Gettysburg or George Washington’s winter at Valley Forge.
It appears there are Republicans willing to fight, as some party leaders seem missing in the fight for election oversight, transparency and integrity.
