Huntergate – Rep. Jim Jordan’s staffers independently verify authenticity of Hunter Biden’s emails
By Arsenio Toledo // Oct 29, 2020

Staffers for Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio say they have independently verified as authentic the emails that allegedly came from a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden, son of Democratic nominee for president Joe Biden.

“Our staff has had numerous conversations which have independently confirmed for us that in fact, these emails are real,” said Jordan to reporters. “They're authentic. We're confident that this is in fact the case, and that these emails are accurate.”

Jordan announced this development to the Hunter Biden scandal during a Trump campaign conference call with reporters on Tuesday, Oct. 20. A source working in the House Judiciary Committee confirmed to The Epoch Times that Jordan's staffers had verified the emails' authenticity. However, the source refused to divulge any other details regarding the matter.

The emails were found in a laptop dropped off by Hunter Biden at a computer repair shop in Wilmington, Delaware, in 2015. The laptop's hard drive, which contains emails, photos, and other files, was obtained by Robert Costello, personal attorney to Rudy Giuliani. He then forwarded a copy of these documents to the New York Post.

The emails allegedly prove that Hunter arranged a meeting between his father, then vice president Joe Biden, and a top executive for Burisma, a Ukrainian natural gas company where Hunter was sitting on the board of directors. Joe has repeatedly denied ever talking about overseas business dealings with Hunter.

“Hunter Biden cashed in, Joe Biden is compromised, and of course the former vice president misled the American people when he said he had no knowledge, no understanding of what his son was up to in his international business dealings,” said Jordan.

Jordan also says three other pieces of evidence point to the emails most likely being authentic. First, John Ratcliffe, the Director of National Intelligence, pointed out that the emails were not products of Russian disinformation campaigns. Second, there is a receipt signed by Hunter himself when he dropped off the laptop at the computer repair store in Wilmington. Lastly, neither Hunter nor Joe have publicly denied the existence of the laptop and who its owner is.

Furthermore, Jordan pointed out the existence of an email from 2017 that referenced 10 percent of equity from a Chinese business venture that is reportedly being held for a person known only as “the Big Guy.” According to Fox News sources, this person is Joe Biden.

“So it seems to me the mainstream press should be pressing the former vice president on his misleading statement to the American people, and the fact that it sure appears he is now compromised to the communists in China.” (Related: The Joe Biden transition team is compromised by Chinese elites who have already taken advantage of Hunter Biden's White House connections.)

Rep. Jordan calls for special counsel investigation on Hunter Biden emails

Given the authentication of Hunter's emails, Jordan has called on Attorney General William Barr to appoint a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden's illicit dealings and to uncover how much Joe Biden was involved in the matter.

Jordan, along with several other House Republicans, penned and signed a letter for Barr urging him to act quickly.

Let's get to the facts,” said Jordan during an appearance on Fox News on Tuesday. “I think it's only fair that the American people have answers to these questions… what was the former vice president's association with his son's business dealings? How did that all work? What took place there?”

Jordan's call for an investigation echoes a similar call made by Trump just a day before, urging Barr to “act fast” and appoint a special counsel before Nov. 3. Trump says the emails are evidence of “major corruption.”
