For over 100 years now, America has been experimenting with big government and the centralization of power, while simultaneously straying further and further from the principles of individualism and constitutionalism. Even when the Republican Party is in control of Washington D.C. – the same Republican Party that claims to stand for limited government – tyranny is still on the move. How could this be? Why is it that no matter what we do or who we elect, the United States always seems to be on a path towards authoritarianism? A recently released poll may have the answer.
According to a CBS News poll from last year, 92 percent of Democrats believe that it is either “very likely” or “somewhat likely” that Trump advisors had improper dealings with Russia. By contrast, only six percent of Democrats said that it is “not very likely” or “not at all likely” that the President and his team colluded with the Russian regime. The reason why this poll is significant is because it demonstrates how ignorant and uninformed the liberal Democrats really are. Time and time again, the left has tried to gather evidence supporting the phony “Russia collusion” story but come up empty. It’s clear by this point that nothing illegal took place between Trump advisors and the Russians, yet 92 percent of Democrats refuse to accept this very basic fact. They reject the truth, and even though we live in a free country where you can live in a fantasy world if you want to, there’s no denying the fact that this ignorance permeating from the left is having a severe impact on our entire country.
No matter what happens, the liberals in this country just cannot be educated. They routinely turn their backs on reality, and even when someone from the other side of the political spectrum attempts to engage them on the issues and inform them with the facts, nothing ever changes. This is the reason why the United States has been slowly creeping towards tyranny for the past several decades – ignorance and political fantasies have beaten the truth into the ground.
Gun control is a perfect example of how the liberals reject fact and reason. It has been statistically proven that countries that allow their citizens to carry firearms for self-defense generally experience lower crime rates than countries that enact strict gun control laws and limit the peoples’ ability to obtain firearms. Furthermore, historically speaking, there have been millions of people around the world who have become enslaved by oppressive, totalitarian regimes after being forced to surrender their firearms to the state. This is exactly what happened in the Holocaust, for example, where millions of Jews were disarmed, rounded up, and exterminated. But when you try to relay this information to the left, it’s like talking to a brick wall – the messages are sent out but never absorbed. As a result, the liberals drag us further and further down a path that countless societies have gone down before, and eventually, it will become impossible to turn back.
And it’s not just on the issue of firearms, either. The progressives remain ignorant and uninformed when it comes to the economy, which is why they are almost all advocates for more regulations and more government interference. On issue after issue, the liberals are uneducated and wholly disconnected from reality, and as a result, the entire country is suffering.
The truth will set you free. The absence of truth will enslave you.
