Nevertheless, these social justice warriors demand that all of us not only agree with them that their priorities are the real priorities, but join them in demanding ‘action’ — of some sort — to ‘fix’ these ‘problems.’
Breitbart News highlighted an example of this out-of-touch SJW extremism this week in reporting on a group of Leftie activists who besieged the Democratic National Committee’s offices in Washington, D.C., to demand — demand — a ‘debate’ on ‘climate change.’
“We’re here to talk about what our future is going to look like,” one protester claimed.
“This issue is not only about equality — it is also about existence,” another SJW shouted. “[For] those who died in [Hurricane] Sandy, or Katrina, or Harvey, or Irma, or because of [the] Paradise [fire], or because of California, or the farmers, or all around this country who have died because of climate change — do respect for them and hold a damn climate debate! For those who are no longer here!”
In other words, we should all hold vigils for the ‘casualties’ of ‘climate change’ — but none for, say, the true voiceless victims of abortion.
Breitbart noted further:
Activists are discouraged by the announcement last week from DNC Chair Tom Perez that the party will not hold a separate primary debate on the topic of climate change.
An email distributed by the organizers of the DNC protest said that “petition signatures” demanding the debate “were collected by CREDO Action, Greenpeace USA, Climate Hawks Vote, Oil Change U.S., Daily Kos, Friends of the Earth Action, Public Citizen, Endangered Species Coalition, People Demanding Action, CPD Action, Women’s March National, Bold Nebraska, Bold Alliance, Amazon Watch, 350 Action, Sunrise Movement, Food & Water Action, NextGen America, US Youth Climate Strike, and MoveOn.”
Left-wing extremist organizations, one and all.
And let’s not kid ourselves: The Left doesn’t want to have a “debate” about climate change. These SJWs want to hold court on climate change. They want to ‘rule’ that a) it’s real; b) human modernity is causing it (U.S. technological progress in particular); and c) ‘everybody’ knows it so really, what’s the point of debating?
After all, don’t these fools tell us climate change is “settled science?”
Most Americans disagree.
While the Leftist “mainstream” media is trying to convince us that climate change has become a “top issue” for 2020, that’s news to most of us: Pollster Lee Miringoff noted in July 2018 that it wasn’t a big deal in the 2018 midterms.
“Climate change is not a real intense issue for a lot of people," Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, told Hill.TV's Joe Concha on "What America's Thinking."
"The fear is, of course, is that if people who don't believe in it are wrong...trouble," he said.
Meanwhile, The Hill noted further, “A Yale University survey released earlier this year found that 38 percent of voters said a candidate's position on climate change will be ‘very important’ when they go to the polls for the midterm elections.”
Out of 28 issues, “climate change” was ranked…15.
So what’s changed? Voters’ attitudes about abortion on ‘demand.’
Three-quarters of Americans say they want to keep in place the landmark Supreme Court ruling, Roe v. Wade, that made abortion legal in the United States, but a strong majority would like to see restrictions on abortion rights, according to a new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist Poll.
And yet, the SJWs don’t want to have a debate — or a vigil — about the lives lost to abortion extremism.
