Senate Democrats, including all declared 2020 presidential contenders, blocked legislation earlier this week that would have mandated babies born alive following a botched abortion receive the same level of lifesaving care given as other newborns, further solidifying the Donkey Party as the Party of Death.
Claiming that the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act was an “anti-abortion” bill that ‘harmed women’s health,’ was “extremist” and “anti-choice,” Democrats and their sycophantic Left-wing supporters at NARAL and Planned Parenthood used one excuse after another to justify the murder of babies born alive, The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh noted.
Others called it a “Republican-led political stunt.”
But of course, the bill was none of these things. Had it passed, it would have required hospitals to deliver basic medical care to the newborn:
If an abortion results in the live birth of an infant, the infant is a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States, and entitled to all the protections of such laws. Any infant born alive after an abortion or within a hospital, clinic, or other facility has the same claim to the protection of the law that would arise for any newborn, or for any person who comes to a hospital, clinic, or other facility for screening and treatment or otherwise becomes a patient within its care.
How “extreme.”
The bill would have also mandated criminal penalties for anyone who outright killed an infant after it was born — which, by the way, was the same crime Dr. Kermit Gosnell of Philadelphia was convicted of on three occasions (by severing their spinal cords), though prosecutors suspected he was guilty of many more.
Notes Walsh, it says a lot about the disintegration of American culture, at least on the Left, that such a law would even be needed at all. But as state legislatures in Democrat-run states around the country — New York, Virginia, Maryland, Vermont — push for or pass laws that allow for the killing of unborn babies right up to the moment of birth, it should be no surprise that the party would oppose what amounts to infanticide.
In fact, with the vote on Tuesday, “the Democratic Party finally and officially endorsed” that horrific act, Walsh wrote. (Related: If babies were born with guns, they could SHOOT post-birth abortionists in self-defense.)
It seems not at all long ago when the Senate, in 2002, unanimously passed the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. The legislation recognized that all born children were human beings and, as such, deserved every legal protection adult human beings receive. But since then Democrats have gone from backing abortion that is “safe, legal, and rare” to opposing a bill that would require medical facilities to provide life support to babies born alive during an abortion procedure.
The fact is, killing a newborn is not a “women’s health” issue, as 2020 Democratic presidential contender Sen. Elizabeth “Fauxcohontas” Warren claims.
Republican politicians just tried (and failed) again to score political points at the expense of women. Enough.
Women and their doctors should decide what’s best for their health – not the @SenateGOP.

It’s not “anti-abortion,” because this bill doesn’t restrict abortions. It’s not “anti-choice” for the same reason. It’s not a Republican political issue. It’s a matter of being compassionate enough to provide necessary medical care to another human being.
And Democrats all call POTUS Donald Trump a “Nazi.” Wasn’t it the Nazis who killed millions of people they deemed not worthy of living?
If there is any good news in all of this it is that Democrats’ support for infanticide and near-infanticide is having an adverse effect on their supporters. As The National Sentinel reports, a new survey by Marist found that there has been a dramatic shift even among Democrats towards becoming pro-life thanks to the party’s support and the pursuit of late-term abortion laws.
Democrats are on the losing end of this issue, but if their continued push for infanticide laws means they will lose at the polls, then by all means, we encourage them to keep it up.
