Firearms industry exploring options to sue Shopify for torturous interference in interstate commerce

Yet another Left-wing e-commerce platform has decided to punish companies who sell law-abiding products – firearms and accessories — in the latest demonstration showing which side of the political spectrum the real Nazis reside.

As reported by The Firearm Blog, Shopify has recently changed its policies regarding what items the platform will ‘allow’ people to sell. And of course, guns and gun-related items are not on the list, despite the fact that gun owners – and especially those who have concealed carry permits – are less apt to commit crimes than a police officer, according to new research.

But in a virtue-signaling world, PC statements of Left-wing unity are what’s important, not facts (or rights), so there’s no sense in sticking to any.

Anyway, according to Shopify, “restricted” firearms items now include certain guns and certain gun parts.

Certain firearms now restricted include:

— An automatic weapon that hasn’t been rendered inoperable (despite the fact that these are already heavily regulated by the federal government and you can’t even own one without a special license);

— A semi-automatic that accepts detachable magazines that hold more than 10 rounds;

— Various items including a grenade or rocket launcher (not even kidding); flash suppressor or silencer; firearms without serial numbers (already highly illegal); barrel shroud; thumbhole stock; and semiautomatic firearms with a fixed magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds – among other accessories, including 3D printed guns (because virtual signaling).

As for certain parts, these are now ‘restricted’:

— 80 percent or unfinished lower receivers;

— Bump stocks;

— Forward pistol grips (which help increase accuracy – who would want that?);

Any pistol grip.

And so on. (Related: The best firearms self-defense videos now available on Brighteon.com.)

Fighting back

As you might imagine, Shopify’s decision isn’t going over well with gun dealers and gun parts makers, especially since these are all legal parts and not prohibited for sale by anyone other than Left-wing gun Nazis.

“A change in policy announced Monday night by Shopify, an e-commerce platform used by more than 600,000 merchants to conduct online sales, will essentially shut down the sale of guns, gun parts and accessories over the internet by retailers who use Shopify,” said a statement from Spike’s Tactical, maker of custom guns specializing in AR-15-style weapons.

The gun dealer and designer said that its entire online business model was built around the Shopify platform to conduct “millions of dollars in sales” through it annually.

“This decision will have significant ramifications to our business and should concern every online retailer and Second Amendment supporter,” Cole Leleux, the general manager of Spike’s Tactical, said.

The statement noted that most of the products the company sells are related to the AR-15 model of semi-automatic rifles in the form of individual parts sales and sales of complete rifles, and all of those products now fall under Shopify’s “restricted” products list.

What’s also problematic, the company said, is that “Shopify’s platform is entirely proprietary, meaning the information stored on their platform cannot be easily transferred” to a different e-commerce platform. That means the $100,000 Spike’s Tactical has invested into developing and building its Shopify store “will disappear once these policies go into effect,” Leleux said – a huge loss for any business.

The company said it has no clue when the new policies are slated to go into effect. When store officials attempted to contact Shopify for an answer, they were directed instead to the e-commerce platform’s legal department, which has not yet responded as of this writing.

Other firearms makers using Shopify are going to be similarly – and negatively – affected.

Spike’s Tactical isn’t taking this lying down. The company has appealed to other firearms dealers who use the platform to contact them as they formulate a legal strategy for a class-action lawsuit.

This is exactly what needs to happen. These Left-wing, virtue-signaling Nazi companies have to be held accountable for depriving people of their living.
