The perpetually triggered Left-wing anti-American media types are losing their minds over the successes of President Donald Trump and Republicans, and now some elements are calling for all-out war against him and his supporters.
As POTUS Trump prepared to name his next Supreme Court nominee due to the retirement of Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy, a mostly reliable constitutionalist who occasionally bucked the trend and voted with the court’s lawless liberal activists, The New York Times’ editorial board demonstrated they would rather the country be plunged into civil war than to allow the president and the GOP-controlled Senate to exercise their due authorities.
Rather than encourage Democrats to adopt political positions on issues that are palatable to a majority of voters, the board dog-whistled to the deranged American Left to rise up against our own government in order to disrupt the SCOTUS nomination and confirmation process.
The board recommended citizens go “Godfather” over it – as in, start resorting to targeted murders, bombings, and other Mafia-type activity to ‘save democracy’ and ‘save the country.’
Frankly, that’s outrageously irresponsible and, some will argue, it amounts to sedition. The board’s July 6theditorial began this way:
With Republicans controlling the Senate and the judicial filibuster dead, the Democrats’ odds of denying President Trump a second Supreme Court appointment are slim. Barring some unforeseen development, the president will lock in a 5-to-4 conservative majority, shifting the court solidly to the right for a generation.
This is all the more reason for Democrats and progressives to take a page from “The Godfather” and go to the mattresses on this issue. Because this battle is about more than a single seat on the nation’s highest court. With public attention focused on all that is at stake with this alignment, this is the moment for Democrats to drive home to voters the crucial role that the judiciary plays in shaping this nation, and why the courts should be a key voting concern in Every. Single. Election.
Note the thinly-veiled language. “The Godfather.” “Go to the mattresses on this issue.” “Battle.” (Related: Left-wing VIOLENCE has created a ‘new normal’ for GOP Congress: Dramatic increase in THREATS.)
How ironic that the NY Times editorial board complains about how much influence the Judiciary has in America today – when it was envisioned by our founders to be the weakest of the three branches of government – without mentioning the fact that liberals have made it that way? Judicial activism on the federal bench begins and ends with Left-wing Democrats; Republican presidents and Republican-leaning Senate majorities confirm constitutionalists to federal courts, which is who they’re supposed to appoint.
And how hypocritical to complain now and call for rebellious domestic terrorism now that Republicans are in charge of the nomination and confirmation process?
Democrats continue to complain about Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s tactical move to withhold Obama’s last SCOTUS pick, Merrick Garland, and the Republican-controlled chamber’s decision to eliminate the filibuster for all federal court nominees including Supreme Court picks. But they do so without acknowledging the Senate is under no constitutional obligation to consider any court picks a president makes, and without acknowledging that then-Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid started the chamber down the road of ending filibusters of Obama court picks.
Lawlessness, constitutional abrogation and revolution are what today’s Democrats have become. Nothing more, nothing less.
These outrageous calls for violence are taken from the Communist/Marxist revolutionary playbook. Since the Alt-Left can’t take power legitimately – at the ballot box – they will try to steal it through actions that amount to nothing less than domestic terrorism.
And The New York Times has become the de facto ringleader. Everyone associated with that editorial ought to be arrested and tried on charges of sedition. Enough already.
Where is AG Jeff Sessions these days?
