Last week the Labor Department released economic and employment data that should make every single American smile, especially American leaders.
But it didn’t.
Instead of celebrating the fact that President Donald Trump – billionaire businessman and mega-jobs creator when he was still in the private sector – has managed to revive the U.S. economy from its moribund state under his predecessor in just 17 months, Democrats tried to spin the numbers in a negative way.
They tried to characterize monster job and economic growth as reckless.
Mindboggling.
As reported by the Washington Examiner, top Democrats and the Democratic Party trivialized June’s 213,000 new jobs created and demonized Republicans for helping their president create an environment of solid growth by passing tax reform last year.
“The June #JobsReport shows what is at stake from the brewing storm of rising health costs, spiraling trade uncertainty & an economy being hollowed out to enrich big corporations & the wealthiest 1 percent. Americans deserve better than the GOP’s raw deal,” tweeted House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., whose economic policies would turn the U.S. into a giant Venezuela were she in charge.

DNC Chairman and former Labor Secretary under Obama, Thomas Perez wrote, “With slow wage growth, rising health care premiums, and skyrocketing gas prices across the country, Donald Trump’s reckless policies are hurting millions of hardworking families. Trump and Republicans in Congress have been so determined to undermine workers that they held a Supreme Court seat hostage for nearly a year in order to nominate an aggressively anti-union justice, who became the deciding vote in last week’s disgraceful decision in the Janus case.”
It’s all one big plot by Republicans, Perez noted further. The GOP and Corporate America are ‘conspiring’ to harm American workers and take away any opportunities they might have to get ahead.
“Trump and Republicans are trying to build a winner-take-all economy that enriches their wealthy friends and saddles working families with the bill,” Perez claimed, incredibly. “Democrats want to create good-paying jobs and build an economy that works for everyone.”
Is that all really true? Let’s compare. (Related: WINNING AGAIN: Obama saw WORST PAY GAINS since Great Depression – Trump sees GREATEST PAY GAINS since Great Depression.)
Under Obama, the U.S. economy never reached 3 percent growth in a single quarter. In fact, in an attempt to excuse his job-and-economy-killing policies, the Obama administration claimed that substandard economic growth was just the new normal in America. His sycophantic press supporters agreed and all scoffed at Trump when he proclaimed that America can and will do better under him.
Who’s been proven right? Hint: It’s not Obama.
After a year-and-a-half in office, Trump’s economy has produced a renaissance for the American people. Some 155.56 million people in the U.S. are working – the tenth record set under the president. Under his economy, blacks and Hispanics are experiencing record-low unemployment. Some 3.7 million jobs have already been created since Trump took office. In fact, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are now more jobs in American than workers to fill them.
Think about that. It’s amazing. But here we have Democrats attempting to portray all of this growth and economic opportunity as bad for our country. “Reckless,” even.
This isn’t the first time Democrats have called for economic calamity just so they can blame Trump. In recent weeks, HBO’s Bill Maher unapologetically called for an economic crash because he, like other Democrats, can’t stand the fact that POTUS has been so successful and so right about economic policy so often.
“That’s my question — I feel like the bottom has to fall out at some point, and by the way, I’m hoping for it because I think one way you get rid of Trump is a crashing economy,” Maher said. “So please, bring on the recession. Sorry if that hurts people but it’s either root for a recession, or you lose your democracy.”
Insane.
The reality is under POTUS Trump we have both– thriving liberty and economic opportunity.
