Almost from the outset, former Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, whom President Donald Trump picked to head up his Environmental Protection Agency, came under attack from unhinged Leftist Democrats, extremists and Deep State careerists.
And why? Because he was the president’s point man in transforming an EPA that long ago stopped being an unbiased purveyor of sound, science-based environmental policy, instead acting as a politicized tool for the global warming/climate change hoaxers.
Pruitt, like Trump, doesn’t buy into the hysteria. He doesn’t buy into the phony climate predictions and modeling that is said to “prove” humans are destroying the planet. And he doesn’t believe that weather changes – which have been occurring throughout Earth’s existence – are ‘evidence’ of human-caused phenomena.
So for those reasons, the unhinged Left had to find a way to get rid of him. And last week, it finally worked: Weaponized hate.
As reported by Breitbart News, Pruitt sent Trump a letter on Thursday resigning his post as one ethics investigation after another finally took their toll.
“It has been an honor to serve you in the Cabinet as Administrator of the EPA. Truly your confidence in me has blessed me personally and enabled me to advance your agenda beyond what anyone anticipated at the beginning of your administration,” Pruitt wrote. “Your current steadfastness and resolute commitment to getting results for the American people both with regard to improved environmental obstacles and historical regulatory reform is a fact occurring at an unprecedented pace and I thank you for the opportunity to serve you and the American people in helping to achieve those ends.”
However, he continued, “the unrelenting attacks on me personally, my family are unprecedented and have taken a sizable toll on all of us.”
POTUS Trump was equally gracious and thankful.
“I have accepted the resignation of Scott Pruitt as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. Within the Agency Scott has done an outstanding job, and I will always be thankful to him for this,” he tweeted.

Pruitt was a known commodity to the Left when he was nominated by Trump and confirmed by the Senate: As Oklahoma’s AG, he sued Obama’s EPA a number of times over senseless, inane, and expensive environmental regulations that were costing his state and its businesses tens of millions of dollars per year.
But he was deluged with scandal stories from the get-go – admittedly some of his own making. It all started when it was learned that he rented a room in Washington, D.C., at a very favorable rate from a well-connected energy lobby. And of course, the dishonest establishment media – all of whom swallow the global warming/climate change nonsense like tripe – embellished each and every tale of “scandal” – despite the fact that the very same media largely yawned or ignored some 43 different Obama-era scandals at EPA including articles of impeachment being drawn up by the House against then-EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy for lying to Congress.
In April The Daily Caller, via the Western Journal, reported that EPA insiders said Pruitt was being set up by Left-wing careerists who have long pushed the agency’s liberal activism and fake science.
These attacks came after a series of policy changes and decisions that rankled the lunatic Left and careerist insiders. They included his policy against the use of secretive “junk science” when it came to climate change. (Related: “Climate change” hoax starting to crumble as scientists admit doom projections were totally wrong.)
And in April, Pruitt declared the agency’s “war on coal” to be over.
“We’re in the process of making sure that we’re not picking winners and losers,” he told New York’s AM 970 “The Cats Roundtable” in regards to which companies should and should not be targeted for punitive actions by the EPA.
“It’s not the job of this agency, or any job in the federal government, to use regulatory power to favor one sector of the economy over another. And what you saw with the past administration is just that — an attitude that says fossil fuel … is something that should be diminished in favor of, what, renewables,” he said.
The good news is that Pruitt’s replacement, Andrew Wheeler, is said to be ideologically the same.
