By this point, it’s difficult to deny the fact that the New York Times is anything but a Trump-hating, left-wing publication that exists solely to tear down the conservative agenda. In a recent article titled “At a Key Moment, Trump’s Top Diplomat is Again Thousands of Miles Away,” author Gardiner Harris took several passive-aggressive jabs at President Trump and his administration, criticizing Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for not being present during Trump’s announcement that the United States would be withdrawing from the Iran deal.
“Senior State Department officials were momentarily speechless on Tuesday when asked why Mr. Pompeo did not delay his trip by a day to be in Washington during Mr. Trump’s Iran deal announcement,” Harris wrote, apparently not realizing the fact that the State Department officials likely didn’t want to leak details of Pompeo’s trip to the media.
Harris went on to note that Pompeo’s absence left many European allies “perplexed,” adding that diplomats were “privately complaining that they were having trouble getting answers from Washington.” The reality, though, is that Mr. Pompeo had a very good reason to be thousands of miles away – he was in North Korea securing the release of three Americans who had been held captive there.
As Trump noted on Twitter: “I am pleased to inform you that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in the air and on his way back from North Korea with the 3 wonderful gentlemen that everyone is looking so forward to meeting. They seem to be in good health. Secretary Pompeo and his ‘guests’ will be landing at Andrews Air Force Base at 2:00 A.M. in the morning. I will be there to greet them. Very exciting!”
In other words, in a moment that should have been celebrated by all Americans regardless of party affiliation, the pathetic New York Times was attacking Mike Pompeo for not being present during Iran deal withdrawal announcement. How sad. (Related: The biggest story of the year is media dishonesty and hatred of the American public.)
If nothing else, this article published in the New York Times provides further proof that the mainstream media would do and say virtually anything to discredit and tear down President Trump and his administration. They can’t afford to let him succeed, because if Trump were to succeed in making America the strong, prosperous nation that it once was, then they risk losing more and more would-be democratic voters to the conservative movement. Therefore, publications like the New York Times and networks like CNN and MSNBC do everything in their power to make the Trump presidency fail.
According to a study conducted by the Media Research Center, between Inauguration Day (January 20, 2017) and the end of that year (December 31, 2017), evening broadcasts on ABC, CBS and NBC aired 3,430 stories about President Trump and his administration, totaling 99 hours, 3 minutes of airtime (roughly 34 percent of all evening news in 2017). MRC found that the media covered the investigation into so-called Russia “collusion” ten times more than the second-most covered topic, which was the response to violence in Charlottesville, Virginia. (Related: The purpose of the mainstream media is thought control and the suppression of the truth.)
Perhaps most notably, however, was the fact that an astonishing 90 percent of the media coverage on President Trump and his administration has been hostile, while only 10 percent was positive. If the mainstream media really was full of a bunch of independent journalists that reported balanced and unbiased news, then that ratio would be closer to 50:50. If this isn’t indisputable proof that the media is out to bring down the Trump administration, then what is?
