Anti-Trump media praising fired FBI Director Comey’s new book, but rank-and-file agents are “not happy” with it OR their former boss

The Left-wing, Trump-hating establishment media — all of whom deeply criticized fired FBI Director James Comey for reopening Hillary Clinton’s email case just days before the November 2016 election — are now singing his praises and hyping his new book, “A Higher Loyalty.”

The big push began on Friday, when outlets that had received advance copies of the tome began reporting excerpts that left many observers shaking their heads in disbelief at the non-revelations and non-bombshells contained therein.

Some labeled the book’s contents as nothing more than “gossipy.” One news correspondent, Fox News’ Chris Wallace, described it as “bitchy.

But the pre-publication hype crested when ABC News broadcast its interview with Comey, featuring Clinton administration and Hillary sycophant George Stephanopoulos. And while he and others in the American Pravda media continue to portray Comey as a holier-than-thou public servant jilted by an out-of-control maniac in the White House, there is an important group of Americans deeply critical of both Comey and his book.

That would be currently-serving FBI line agents.

As reported by The Blaze, Jamie Gangel, a CNN correspondent, told network host Wolf Blitzer that her FBI sources are “not happy” with the book, which they said crosses a line of professionalism that Comey used to respect.

She also said that they believe the book is going to bring even more scrutiny and distrust of the bureau at a time when it is already “under attack” from President Donald J. Trump (more on that in a moment).

“I’ve talked to quite a few former FBI high-ranking sources, they are not happy about this because they feel it crosses the line of professionalism,” she said, as quoted by The Blaze.

“They are worried about their reputation. They have been under attack, the organization has been under attack,” she continued.

Sources also told her, she says, that they are “afraid” Comey’s book will cause irreparable harm to the bureau’s reputation for the foreseeable future.

Watch:

As for the FBI’s criticism, leave it to CNN to turn it into a “hate Trump” moment.

The president has not been critical of “the FBI,” but rather certain corrupt officials within the bureau who acted with forethought of malice towards him and his campaign. You know, officials like Comey, fired Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, FBI ranking counterterrorism official Peter Strzok, and bureau lawyer Lisa Page.

When you have active agents — ranking FBI officials, including the director himself — plotting against your presidential candidacy while simultaneously tanking an investigation into Hillary Clinton, who was known to have criminally trafficked in classified information — that would tend to irritate any commander-in-chief. And while we’re on this subject, let us never forget that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz is preparing a report on the [mis]handling of the Clinton investigation by Comey, McCabe, Strzok, et al. That report is due anytime now.

As for the fired director himself, he’s not impressing anyone except the Trump-hating media and the segment of the American public that still believes that Hillary Clinton is not a crooked insider who sold herself and would-be presidency to the highest bidder, via her now-defunct “charity.”

Notes the New York Post’s Michael Goodwin:

My apologies to J. Edgar Hoover. Trying to illustrate the arrogance and treachery of James Comey, I dubbed him J. Edgar Comey and accused him of learning the art of dirty tricks from the FBI’s legendary director.

I was wrong. Hoover, for all his huge flaws, took most of the dirt he collected to the grave. Comey is emptying his closet just to make a buck.

Even worse, we now know that Comey led an FBI that was corrupted to the core by politics and self-dealing.

Comey is likely to sell a lot of books, but it’s not because he’s an honorable guy seeking to right wrongs, as many FBI officials and agents — serving and retired — fully understand.
