Yet more proof that universities are “social justice” terrorist training camps
By JD Heyes // Apr 04, 2018

Whenever I hear American college students complaining about being “oppressed,” I immediately think about the real examples of oppression I have seen in the third world while serving our country in uniform.

When I hear them “demanding” things after they’ve forcefully occupied campus property like common thugs I think, why isn’t someone expelling every single one of them with the promise that they will never be welcome back and they aren’t getting refunds of their tuition?

Those thoughts came rushing into my mind once more as I read about students at Howard University, a majority black school in Washington, D.C., who forced their way into the school’s administrative building on campus with a list of demands so outrageous and ridiculous school alumnus and Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall would have been ashamed.

Essentially what these “students” are demanding is free education, no homework, no grades, and, probably, not even classes, really — just let us show up, give us a diploma, and send us on our way.

The protests are being led by a group calling itself “HU Resist,” which frankly sounds a lot like just another Left-wing domestic ‘revolutionary’ organization stumping for just another Marxist cause. During the nearly week-long ‘revolt’ students have occupied all four floors of the administrative building — including the president’s office — turning it all into a “safe space” that bans entry by faculty or staff.

So that means, all of the Howard University students who aren’t a part of this are suffering from an administrative standstill, with issues pending before school officials having been unofficially postponed for an indefinite period.

HU Resist has nine demands, which was ostensibly sparked by a financial aid scandal, including the resignation of the college president and its board members; specialized counseling; combatting gentrification; the disarming of campus police; homework and class exemptions due to “mental and emotional” health issues; the creation of a “grievance system” akin to a Communist ‘neighborhood watch’ in which all actions and speech are monitored (and, hence, anything deemed ‘inappropriate’ would be banned or censored, I’m sure) when they involve students with ‘marginalized identities’ (where do these clowns come up with this language?); and more.

The list demands an “investigative body of students, faculty, and administrators” to handle disciplinary action involving student complaints about “misconduct and harmful behavior, such as the use of sexist, classist, colorist, queerphobic, ableist, and xenophobic language.” (Related: Safe space: Liberal university to conduct ‘heterosexual privilege’ training.)

Or, pretty much everything that offends their little sensibilities and forces them to think about someone else’s competing viewpoints.

As to the demand that campus cops be disarmed — which is a perfect idea if the goal is accommodating a school shooter — it comes with the creation of a “Police Oversight Committee” with university and community representatives on hand to conduct investigations while advising on department policies, procedures, budgets, and complaints against police officers (of which I’m sure there will be many).

Won’t it be fun to be an officer at Howard U?

As Fox News reported further:

Due to “systemic oppression,” HU Resist demands Howard hire more counselors – “who specialize in gender and sexuality, substance abuse, interpersonal violence, intra-communal violence, etc” – and implement permissible absence from class or homework assignments for mental and emotional health issues.

They also demand the university create a task force to fight rape culture and “implement a mandatory one-credit course that is required for graduation focusing on gender, consent, sexuality, and sexual health.”

HU Resist demands a say in the Board of Trustees by student popular vote.

Wow. The inmates truly would run the asylum if school board members buy into this.

And they are. At least 26 faculty members have signed a letter supporting this outrageousness (though, notably, the Alumni Association is backing the president — because they had to earn their degrees).

I keep waiting for this insanity to pass, as it eventually did during the tumultuous 1960s. I’m not optimistic.
