If you haven’t realized yet just how big and powerful “the swamp” is in Washington, D.C., that President Donald J. Trump is trying to ‘drain,’ this should help you understand how big of a job it’s going to be.
Special counsel Robert Mueller, who was initially appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein — whom President Obama named to his post — was originally tasked with finding out whether the Trump’s campaign “colluded” with Russia to “steal the election” from Hillary Clinton.
There has been no evidence whatsoever produced by anyone — the FBI, the intelligence community or various investigating congressional committees — to substantiate such a claim, even though Democrats and their sycophantic media allies continue to insinuate that a link exists.
But it appears proving that was never the goal.
Mueller was given a very broad mandate by Rosenstein, allowing him to pretty much investigate whatever he wants as it relates to Team Trump. What most people haven’t been told is that Mueller has some skeletons of his own that should be investigated by a separate special counsel.
As noted by The Gateway Pundit, Sean Hannity, a popular Fox News host, pointed out on his program last week that attorneys who worked for Mueller as head of the FBI during the Uranium One deal signed off on it despite the fact that the bureau had uncovered massive evidence of criminality involving Russian and American figures, up to and including then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The Gateway Pundit reported:
According to Hannity, Fox News Legal Contributor Gregg Jarrett discovered both Deputy Attorney General Ron Rosenstein and Mueller’s right-hand man, Andrew Weissmann, former head of the fraud unit at Obama/Holder’s Justice Department, signed the plea agreement of the Russian businessman embroiled in the Clinton-Uranium One case.
In his opening monologue, Hannity noted that Weissmann, “just like Mueller and so many other Obama officials,” is “tied up in the corrupt Uranium One deal.”
He noted that Weissmann ran the Department of Justice’s fraud section at the time Russian operatives were bribing Americans involved with the company, and while vast sums of money were flowing into the coffers of the Clinton Foundation and former president Bill Clinton’s pockets.
In addition, Weissmann’s name appears at the bottom of a plea agreement involving one of the Russian operatives in a case that was quietly disposed of by DoJ — without much coverage in the media and without informing Congress of what had taken place.
Hannity also noted that another signature on the document is that of Rosenstein, who helped oversee the deal as a U.S. attorney. All three officials — Mueller, Weissmann and Rosenstein are all complicit in the deal and are now involved in an investigation involving Trump and his campaign.
It’s ludicrous. But more than anything else, it is intensely corrupt.
Hannity pointed out that were they not so corrupt, all three current and former DoJ officials would be investigating the Clintons for their ties to Russia, Russian operatives, and Russian influence.
Included in that investigation would be Obama, who as master of the universe at the time was no doubt kept in the loop about the deal, which saw 20 percent of all strategic U.S.-held uranium be transferred to Moscow.
What’s more, as The Gateway Pundit reported in a separate story, former U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, told Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro that Attorney General Jeff Sessions had no plans at all to investigate Clinton, the corrupt Uranium One deal, or any Justice Department officials who were complicit in it. (Related: Why Jeff Sessions should resign.)
“I can tell you that while I was in Congress and the Chairman of the Oversight Committee, I did go over and visit with Attorney General Sessions and it was one of the most frustrating discussions I had because whether it was the IRS, Fast and Furious, the email scandal that we went through, I did not see the Attorney General willing to just let Lady Justice administer justice and then follow through,” he told Pirro.
“Wait a minute, I don’t have that much time. You spoke with Sessions on IRS, Fast and Furious. Did he give you a reason? Did he say he was presenting anything to a grand jury? Yes or no?” she responded.
“No, he basically let me know he wasn’t going to pursue anything on the major cases,” the former congressman said.
Sessions needs to be the next one Trump fires. If he doesn’t reclaim the Justice Department, he is liable to face the loss of his presidency because the objective of the Deep State and Mueller is to see him impeached.
