Former CIA director Brennan just called for a COUP against Trump if he exercises his authority as president

The president of the United States, as outlined in the Constitution, is head of one branch of government — the Executive Branch.

All of the federal bureaucracies fall under the purview and control of the Executive Branch, hence, the president controls all of the federal bureaucracy.

That includes the Justice Department and all of the employees who work for the Department of Justice.

One of those employees now includes former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who was hired by Asst. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to investigate allegations that Russia interfered in the 2016 election, including charges that Team Trump “colluded” with Moscow to “steal” the election from Hillary Clinton.

Both Mueller and Rosenstein, then, work at the pleasure of the head of the Executive Branch.

So what’s the purpose of this civics lesson? Only to demonstrate the treasonous nature of suggesting that government officials should ignore President Donald J. Trump if he decides to utilize his Article II authority as head of the Executive Branch to fire Mueller.

Such a suggestion amounts to nothing less than supporting what would be a coup against a duly-elected president. And this suggestion was just made by John Brennan, Obama’s CIA director at a “security” forum in Aspen, Colorado.

As reported by The National Sentinel, Brennan said that should Trump decide to get rid of Mueller, that would somehow be “inconsistent” with the duties of his office and, therefore, should not be followed.

“I think it’s the obligation of some executive branch officials to refuse to carry that out. I would just hope that this is not going to be a partisan issue. That Republicans, Democrats are going to see that the future of this government is at stake and something needs to be done for the good of the future,” Brennan said.

To be clear, that is nothing short of advocating a coup against the president and it should be treated as such by the White House. You can see Brennan make his comment at 43 minutes into the clip below:

Brennan earlier said that “the work of Robert Mueller is critical to the country” — as though should it somehow be disrupted, the country would collapse.

“If he’s fired by Mr. Trump or attempted to be fired by Mr. Trump, I hope — I really hope — that our members of Congress, our elected representatives, are going to stand up and say enough is enough, and stop making apologies and excuses for things that are happening that I think really flout our system of government,” he added. (Related: Trump son-in-law Kushner to Congress and the Deep State: Russian “collusion” is completely BOGUS.)

So in other words, should the president exercise his constitutional authority to fire a special counsel who was appointed under illegitimate circumstances, he should be removed from office? This, from someone who lied his you-know-what off to Congress a few years ago?

Surely Brennan knows that special counsels are only appointed after satisfying a three-part process, number one of which is that there is a finding by the AG (or acting AG) that a crime has been committed. So far, all we have regarding this “Russia-Trump collusion” business is smoke and mirrors and allegations — no findings that a crime has been committed. In fact, as Rosenstein said when announcing the appointment of Mueller after AG Jeff Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigation, “My decision is not a finding that crimes have been committed or that any prosecution is warranted. I have made no such determination.”

There is also a requirement that the appointment of a special counsel not present any conflict of interest; Mueller’s appointment is rife with conflicts of interest:

— Trump interviewed him for the job of replacing James Comey as FBI director just days before Rosenstein named him special counsel;

— Comey, in violating FBI rules and, likely, federal statutes when he leaked his Trump meeting memo to a friend (who then leaked it to the media) told the Senate he did so specifically to trigger the appointment of a special counsel;

— Comey and Mueller are best buds who go way back together at the Justice Department.

This entire episode stinks to high Heaven. The president is clearly under siege by the Deep State, which just threatened him for any lawful use of his powers.

Trump can’t let this stand.
