CNN never learns, publishes more fake news about phony ‘Trump dossier’

CNN went from the leader in cable news to near the bottom of the heap in a span of about 25 years, thanks to the fact that the network can’t seem to let go of its far-Left political partisanship. Even after repeatedly being outed as the Fake News Network during the recent presidential campaign and after Donald J. Trump won an electoral landslide, CNN continues its race to the bottom and, eventually, complete irrelevance.

On Friday the network published what amounted to a nothingburger: A supposed follow-up to the now legendary “Trump dossier” that was found to be complete garbage when it was published in full last month by Buzzfeed, then followed up by CNN. [For the record, a Russian cyber-firm named in the dossier has filed a defamation suit against Buzzfeed and the former ‘British intelligence agent’ that CNN has placed so much trust in because it’s complete BS.)

Per the breathless CNN report:

For the first time, US investigators say they have corroborated some of the communications detailed in a 35-page dossier compiled by a former British intelligence agent, multiple current and former US law enforcement and intelligence officials tell CNN. As CNN first reported, then-President-elect Donald Trump and President Barack Obama were briefed on the existence of the dossier prior to Trump’s inauguration.

None of the newly learned information relates to the salacious allegations in the dossier. Rather it relates to conversations between foreign nationals. The dossier details about a dozen conversations between senior Russian officials and other Russian individuals. Sources would not confirm which specific conversations were intercepted or the content of those discussions due to the classified nature of US intelligence collection programs.

That supposedly “confirms” some conversations…between some people…at some locations….mentioned in the dossier. (RELATED: Keep current with the latest in fake news coverage at NewsFakes.com)

Oh, well then. Stop the presses!

There’s more of nothing:

— CNN has not confirmed whether any content relates to then-candidate Trump.

— US intelligence officials emphasize the conversations were solely between foreign nationals, including those in or tied to the Russian government, intercepted during routine intelligence gathering.

— Officials who spoke to CNN cautioned they still have not reached any judgment on whether the Russian government has any compromising information about the President

— Officials did not comment on or confirm any alleged conversations or meetings between Russian officials and US citizens, including associates of then-candidate Trump.

— One of the officials stressed to CNN they have not corroborated “the more salacious things” alleged in the dossier.

Nothing. And nothing. And….nothing.

CNN reached out to White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer for a comment, and he had exactly the right response: “We continue to be disgusted by CNN’s fake news reporting.” He called back later to add: “This is more fake news. It is about time CNN focused on the success the President has had bringing back jobs, protecting the nation, and strengthening relationships with Japan and other nations. The President won the election because of his vision and message for the nation.”

Understand this “dossier” was floating around for months in establishment media and political circles. At the same time, U.S. intelligence agencies were looking into its contents.

No one could verify any of it. And apparently, they still can’t. But now, suddenly, we’re supposed to believe that….something, somewhere, said by someonemight be true, even if it has nothing at all to do with the president of the United States. No, not that gross “salacious” sexual stuff about Trump. Or the prior claims that he has longstanding ties to Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin. None of that stuff.

So what’s the point of publishing this non-story? To advance the agenda of the globalist, establishment Left and to plant another seed in the minds of the sheep who still watch CNN and the other dying outlets that will parrot the disproven narrative: President Trump is a Russian stooge.

Because some U.S. intelligence people who have no proof whatsoever of anything and who are obviously not big fans of the president think so. Or would like it to be true, which is just as good.

There is a reason why the Trump administration is boycotting CNN – and it’s CNN’s fault for reporting this kind of fake news garbage.
