In the days after GOP nominee Donald J. Trump convincingly beat Democrat Hillary Clinton, there began a campaign of disinformation to discredit Trump’s victory. Early on, the “mainstream media” and careerist #nevertrump types in the intelligence community created the fake narrative that somehow, someway, Russia was responsible.
The first fake news salvo was fired by the Washington Post, which relied on never-before-heard-from group of “experts,” to report on its findings that Russia distributed anti-Clinton propaganda to more than 200 websites who then parroted it, thereby helping Trump to win.
Since then, careerist #nevertrump bureaucrats have joined in to claim that “intelligence reports” also found “evidence” of Russian hacking of the Democratic National Committee, the Clinton campaign and even the Republican National Committee, again to help Trump and hurt Clinton.
Throughout all of this, there has never been a single shred of proof to substantiate any of these claims. Now, it seems, the discredited MSM has begun turning to chat rooms on Reddit and elsewhere as its “source.”
In recent days, CNN and Buzzfeed reported on a “dossier” that allegedly came from a “British intelligence” source claiming “proof” that Trump has close ties to Russia, and has had for years. Further, the documents claimed that the president-elect, a few years back, hired Russian prostitutes to have a “golden shower” on a hotel bed in Moscow where President Obama and the first lady had allegedly stayed during a trip to Russia. (RELATED: Keep up with all of the fake news at MediaFactCheck.com.)
But both media organizations, which didn’t bother to verify a single claim in the 35-page dossier, were badly trolled, as this posting at 4Chan revealed. Turns out that someone fabricated the entire dossier, including the golden shower report, which was actually passed along to the CIA by Rick Wilson, a GOP operative and anti-Trump weasel who thought it was real (as did the CIA, because the agency included the information in its classified report about Russian election hacking).
Is it any wonder that Trump doesn’t trust the careerists in the U.S. intelligence community that he is set to inherit from Obama?
It is difficult to figure out what is sadder and more distressing: that the establishment media in America cannot be trusted about anything, or the fact that our intelligence services are so politicized that they believe anything fed to them about a president they obviously dislike? That means they can’t be trusted, either.
Trump denounced the report, its contents and especially its “sources” as fake news, during his first press conference on Wednesday, asking members of the media present to explain to him how they could take any of it seriously. But it’s a moot question because anyone who is being honest knows this was nothing but the latest broadside against Trump in an effort to deny him the office he rightfully won.
Also notably absent in all of this: President Obama and Trump’s vanquished foe, Hillary Clinton. They would never have stood for this if she was given this kind of treatment from any media (nor should they). Yet they won’t stand up for the man who is about to take the helm as leader of the free world.
Disgusting, and yet typical of the Left.
