(Freedom.news) It’s going to be a long four (or eight) years for the hapless and illegitimate ‘mainstream media,’ members of which will spend it gasping and carping at just about everything a President Donald J. Trump administration does.
On Saturday, The New York Times published what can only be described at a “freak out” piece on its web site, accusing Trump of “upsetting decades of diplomacy” with phone calls to some world leaders. Seems the leaders Trump has chosen to talk to first don’t meet with the Times’ editorial board’s approval. Here’s an example:
Mr. Trump talks to the president
of Taiwan, becoming the first
U.S. president or president-elect
to do so since 1979.
The call with President Tsai Ing-wen risks infuriating China, which wants to bring Taiwan back under mainland rule. By honoring the Taiwanese president with a formal call, Mr. Trump’s transition team implicitly suggests that it considers Taiwan an independent state. The U.S. has declined to recognize Taiwan since 1979, when it shifted recognition to the government in Beijing. Taiwan itself has yet to declare formal independence. Mr. Trump tweeted, “The President of Taiwan CALLED ME today to wish me congratulations on winning the Presidency.”
The Times also complained about Trump’s talks with populist President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines – no doubt because he once called the Times’ beloved Barack Obama a “son of a bitch”; Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe because he had his daughter, Ivanka, with him rather than the Left-wing ideologues installed by Obama, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry at the State Department; the strongman president of Kazakhstan; and for accepting an invitation to speak to Pakistani President Nawaz Sharif…and so on.
You can read the full freak out here.
Again and again throughout the campaign cycle, the idiots who inhabit the mainstream media – those self-righteous, arrogant, self-anointed purveyors of propaganda – missed every opportunity to see Trump coming and understand why he was doing so well with the American electorate. But they failed because they refused to accept him as a legitimate contender for the crown, so to speak. The failure will continue throughout his presidency, making it epic. Trump has not, and will never, fit the “mold” they have created for modern American politicians. He’s not one, and while he’ll have to learn some nuances of the job of being leader of the free world, anyone who understands Trump knows the presidency isn’t going to fundamentally change who he is and how he operates.
Which brings us to the main point here. Note to the NY Times and the rest of the lamestream media: There’s a new sheriff in town, and his name is Donald Trump. Obama’s on his way out – and so is his disinterested, ham-handed, amateurish approach to foreign policy. For you to continue assuming that he’s a buffoon and has no clue what he’s doing is another of the epic miscalculations and mistakes you made throughout the campaign.
And even if he may be, so what? He’s the president-elect. It’s not up to you, in the media, or Obama or Clinton or Kerry or anyone else, to decide which foreign policy direction the U.S. will take. It’s Trump’s decision, and the American people have entrusted him to make those decisions.
How it all turns out remains to be seen, but there is this: If you think that China, India, Russia and other great powers have any fear of, or respect for, the Obama administration – well, then that would help explain how you missed the Trump train steaming down the tracks in the first place.
