The 2016 presidential election will be remembered for a lot of reasons, but none of them are more important than the fact that it was decided almost exclusively due to the mainstream media’s coverage of it. What is most surprising about that fact, though, is that by trying to skew everything to make Donald Trump look un-electable, they ending up ensuring that he was elected.
After months and months of trying to discredit Trump’s campaign and claiming that he had absolutely no chance of winning, the mainstream media slowly began to change their tune, admitting that Trump was doing the unthinkable; Donald Trump was en route to becoming the next president of the United States.
Of course, that is exactly what happened, and the so-called journalists were forced to eat crow. And still, many have tried to blame everyone but themselves for Hillary Clinton being defeated. People who voted for third-party candidates like Gary Johnson and Jill Stein, people who didn’t vote, Trump supporters and anyone who spoke ill of Clinton, all received the blame from the mainstream media who simply couldn’t acknowledge that they were the ones who really screwed up.
They gave Donald Trump the platform. They gave Donald Trump the coverage. They told middle America that they were not good enough. They told straight white men that they were awful people. They created the explosive, set the timer and then acted surprised when it blew up. They did this to themselves, and are too stupid to realize it.
But not all the members of the media are completely blind to why what has happened ended up taking place. David Folkenflik of National Public Radio (NPR) reports, “News organizations can yield to mass distraction, and coverage can bounce giddily once again from one outrage and astonishing turn of events to another. It is a time for humility and taking stock. It is a time for listening to voters who unexpectedly turned to Trump and those who envision a very different form of America.”
The health of our country was in serious jeopardy before this election, but things are looking better. We defeated Hillary Clinton. We defeated the powers that be. We defeated the globalists. The American people had their voices heard for the first time in a long time, and that feeling is one that cannot be put into words. Things are getting better because the leftists are losing.
And we can thank the mainstream media for that.
