A prosecutor from San Antonio, Texas, recently went on the record and declared that vaccines can and do cause autism. While unsurprising to those who’ve done their research, to hear those words come from a district attorney is certainly quite shocking.

Nico LaHood and his wife Davida are parents to an autistic child. Fox San Antonio reports that LaHood has said: “After his 18 month vaccination, we had a very different child.” Many parents share his sentiments; there are thousands of heartbreaking stories about vaccine injury.

Of course, LaHood’s choice to speak out about the horrible impact vaccination had on his child did not come without consequences; backlash from vaccine enthusiasts and the media followed shortly thereafter. For example, Express News has claimed that LaHood is “prone to conspiracy theories,” and went on to do their very best to discredit LaHood.

Even after noting that LaHood is actually a democrat, Express News writer Brian Chasnoff clearly showed his own bias about vaccination by essentially declaring that dissenting opinions can only come from “alt-right websites, the lunatic fringe,” and that people who oppose injecting babies with potentially toxic serums are “charlatans.” This is the kind of commentary you get from “tolerant” people.

This is to be expected – the mainstream media has gotten very good at denigrating dissenting opinions. Regardless of what they say, LaHood should be respected and appreciated for doing what many Americans no longer have the courage to do: standing up for what they believe in.

In an interview with KSAT, a local news station, LaHood acknowledged that his opinion went against the grain, but noted that he would not be silenced due to his position. When questioned about whether or not he should be saying such things publicly, LaHood responded: “My opinions are just my opinions. As a daddy, as a husband, who happens to be the district attorney. People are allowed to have a First Amendment right to an opinion. I know this is not a politically correct opinion.”

Sadly, standing up to Big Pharma and their vaccine agenda will only make for public flagellation these days.
