(Freedom.news) If you were still unconvinced that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is too compromised by special and foreign interests to serve as president of the United States, The Associated Press should have put all of those doubts to rest earlier this week.
On Tuesday the AP published a story providing details about how Clinton essentially used her post as secretary of state under President Obama as a money-making operation for the Clinton Foundation.
More than half of those individuals who met with Clinton at the State Department donated to the foundation – to the tune of more than $156 million during her tenure. As David Harsanyi of the New York Post points out, newly released emails (and you thought Clinton had already released all her emails) prove beyond a doubt that she used her position at State as a pay-for-play operation, selling access to her and the U.S. government as a whole.
“It’s against federal law for charities to act in the interests of private business or individuals. Yet the Clinton Foundation secured high-paying gigs for its namesakes and helped for-profit corporations with family ties set up lucrative deals,” Harsanyi wrote.
The AP added:
At least 85 of the 154 nongovernment fat cats who got access to Clinton donated to her family charity or promised to back its programs, either personally or through businesses or other groups, according to a review of State Department documents…
How FBI Director James Comey could have whiffed on all of this is beyond legitimate explanation.
How the Justice Department could justify passing on prosecution is inexplicable.
To assume that Barack Obama could not have known this was going on at his State Department is simply implausible.
That Congress is giving both Clinton and Obama a pass on this bald-faced corruption is inexcusable.
The only reasonable conclusion Americans can deduct from the entire sordid affair involving the Clintons and the Obama administration, then, is that our government, through and through, is corrupt and so thoroughly co-opted by special interests it has ceased to function as designed.
There are no more “checks and balances.” Congress is impotent, the presidency is imperial, the Judicial Branch is full of political appointees and too few Americans seem interested enough in restoring their rightful place as owners of their government and masters of their own destinies.
What’s worse, our enemies know all of this as well. They have worked our “system” to their advantage because they know what truly motivates our elected (and appointed) officials. On the one hand you have Obama the Alinskyite, bound and determined from youth to see the destruction of traditional America and its rightful place as arbiter of the free world – a place won with blood, sweat, tears and ingenuity. On the other you have the Clintons, who so lust for money and status they are willing to sell their souls to the highest bidder, regardless of the bidder’s motivations.
Together Obama and Clinton have used each other to accomplish different goals but which have the same end: The destruction of America, American-style liberty and the “old order” as we know it.
Into this power vacuum will step some of the most ruthless authoritarian regimes on the planet. And we’ll all be lucky to survive it.
It may be too late to restore our republic without some pain and sacrifice. We may have already moved past the point of rooting out institutional corruption and contempt at the ballot box. At some point in the future, Americans may once again have to fight for their lives – and their freedom. As it was in ancient Rome, the decay from within may have already become too pronounced to repair by traditional means.
We are past the point of blaming. There is plenty of blame to go around, and that includes the American electorate, which has, for decades, stood idly by while thieves, malcontents, hucksters and liars all posing as politicians have stolen our liberty, saddled generations with debt and circumvented our Constitution.
There will be a day of reckoning. For nations, there always is.
