Gunman who attacked German movie theater has been shot dead

A gunman has been killed by police after opening fire in a West Germany movie theater.

An unidentified man walked into Kinopolis complex in Viernheim with a “long gun” and began firing shots off. Shortly thereafter, he was killed by police who determined that he was holding hostages.

German politician Peter Beuth stated that nobody else had been harmed in the attack, though USA Today reports that at least 25 people were injured. Conflicting reports are relatively common after these kinds of chaotic events, but it’s unclear at this time which is the truth.

No substantial information regarding the attack has been released, but you can be rest assured that the details surrounding the event — like many of those like it in recent memory — will be extremely fascinating. During a time of ideological and political radicalism, determining motives is an extremely important part of every horrific attack.

Attacks like this serve as a reminder that when terror attacks happen — and in this day and age, they will happen — you have to be prepared. Ranger Gear offers a wide variety of products that could help in disaster settings. When events like this occur, sometimes the only person you can rely on is yourself. It’s best to stay strapped with anything that can help keep yourself and those around you safe.
