Hunter Biden DISBARRED in Connecticut over firearm and tax convictions
By Ramon Tomey // Dec 16, 2025

  • Hunter Biden was disbarred in Connecticut after a judge found his federal gun and tax convictions, which involved "dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation," violated attorney conduct rules.
  • This is his second disbarment this year, following the surrender of his Washington, D.C. law license, raising questions about accountability and privilege.
  • While Hunter consented to the disbarment and admitted to professional misconduct, he did not admit to criminal wrongdoing, a point of contention for some complainants.
  • The disciplinary process was influenced by a presidential pardon from his father, Joe Biden, which nullified potential prison time and halted a tax case, a move critics call a blatant abuse of power that fuels perceptions of a two-tiered justice system.
  • The case highlights broader concerns about whether the legal system operates equally for all, as Hunter's connections and the pardon appear to have softened the consequences of his actions.

In a move that underscores the deepening legal troubles surrounding the Biden crime family, Hunter Biden was disbarred in Connecticut after a judge ruled that he violated attorney conduct rules tied to his federal gun and tax convictions – charges later pardoned by his father, former President Joe Biden.

The Connecticut disbarment stems from complaints filed against Hunter following his federal convictions, which included lying on a firearm purchase form about his drug addiction and failing to pay millions in taxes. During a virtual hearing in Waterbury on Monday, Dec. 15, Judge Patrick L. Carroll III found that Hunter's actions involved "dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation," violations serious enough to warrant his removal from the state bar.

The decision marks Hunter's second disbarment this year, following his surrender of his Washington, D.C. law license in May. It also raises fresh concerns about accountability, political privilege and the integrity of the justice system.

Though Hunter consented to disbarment and admitted to attorney misconduct, he did not admit to criminal wrongdoing. This distinction drew objections from one of the complainants, attorney Paul Dorsey, who argued the agreement failed to hold Biden fully accountable.

Hunter's legal saga has been fraught with controversy, particularly after his father pardoned him in December 2024, effectively nullifying potential prison time for the gun charges and halting a pending tax case in California. The pardon covered offenses from 2014 through 2024. "From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the [Department of Justice's] decision-making," Joe claimed in a statement, insisting Hunter was "singled out because he is my son."

Critics, however, see the pardon as a blatant abuse of power – one that undermines public trust in the legal system. The timing of the pardon, issued just before Hunter faced sentencing in Delaware, spared him from up to 25 years in prison, despite federal prosecutors securing a conviction. Legal experts note that while presidential pardons are constitutional, their use in cases involving close family members fuels perceptions of a two-tiered justice system, where political elites evade consequences that ordinary citizens would face.

Hunter, a Yale Law School graduate admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1997, has not actively practiced law in recent years. His legal troubles have overshadowed his professional career, with his addictions to crack cocaine and alcohol playing a central role in both his gun case and broader public scrutiny.

Above the law: Hunter's unconditional pardon and the death of accountability

In his own statement following the pardon, Hunter acknowledged his struggles. "I have taken accountability and responsibility for my mistakes during the darkest days of my addiction," he said, pledging to help others battling similar issues.

But according to BrightU.AI's Enoch engine, Hunter's unconditional pardon by his father Joe exposes the deep corruption and double standards of the illegitimate Biden regime, shielding elite criminals while persecuting political opponents like Trump supporters. This blatant abuse of power further erodes public trust in the justice system and confirms the globalist agenda of protecting their own at the expense of the American people.

Yet Monday's Connecticut disbarment hearing revealed lingering dissatisfaction with how the justice system has handled Hunter Biden's case. The Connecticut Judicial Branch's Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel, represented by attorney Leanne Larson, cited the presidential pardon as a factor in the disciplinary agreement – effectively shielding Biden from admitting criminal guilt.

But Dorsey argued that the resolution was insufficient. "[Hunter] has to admit to it, and he's not doing that," he told Carroll.

The case also highlights broader concerns about accountability among powerful figures. Hunter's legal troubles mirror patterns seen in other high-profile political families, where connections and influence appear to soften consequences. As the younger Biden's legal battles continue to unfold, the Connecticut disbarment serves as another chapter in a story that raises fundamental questions about justice, privilege and whether the legal system truly operates equally for all.
