Transgender extremist’s assassination attempt on Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent exposes radical left’s VIOLENT agenda
By Ramon Tomey // Feb 03, 2025

  • Twenty-four-year-old Ryan Michael English, also known as Riley Jane, was apprehended by U.S. Capitol Police for attempting to assassinate newly confirmed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
  • English was found with a knife, Molotov cocktails, bomb-making materials and a chilling note expressing his intent to kill Bessent and others – including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) due to what he perceived as their oppression of marginalized groups.
  • English's actions are part of a trend of violence linked to radical leftist groups, such as the recent shooting of a Border Patrol agent by transgender individuals. This pattern raises concerns about coordinated extremist efforts to destabilize the government.
  • English's case highlights the psychological struggles of individuals immersed in far-left ideologies that demonize political opponents, leading to violent actions justified as resistance against perceived oppression.
  • The use of the term "Nazi" to describe Trump administration officials and supporters is a tactic to dehumanize and delegitimize their opposition, justifying violent actions as necessary resistance against an existential threat.

The arrest of a gender-confused individual who attempted to assassinate newly confirmed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent exposes the radical left's escalating attempts to destabilize the second Trump administration through violence and extremism.

Twenty-four-year-old Ryan Michael English, who also went by the name Riley Jane, was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) on Monday, Jan. 27. English approached USCP officers on Monday afternoon, stating, "I'd like to turn myself in," before confessing that he was there to kill Bessent.

A search of his person revealed a folding knife, two Molotov cocktails made from vodka bottles and hand sanitizer-soaked cloth, and a lighter. In his vehicle, authorities discovered additional bomb-making materials, including a 750 ml bottle of 100-proof vodka and a sweatshirt from which cloth had been cut to create incendiary devices.

Authorities also found in English's pockets a chilling note that revealed his intent to assassinate Bessent. "I can't do nothing while Nazis kill my sisters," read the note, which was scrawled on the back of a receipt. According to the Post Millennial, the note was addressed to someone named "Judith."

This rhetoric of labeling Trump administration officials as "Nazis" is a hallmark of Trump Derangement Syndrome – a phenomenon in which individuals on the far left irrationally vilify those who support or work with President Donald Trump. English's case underscores not only the dangerous tactics employed by far-left extremists but also the troubling mental health issues that appear to fuel their actions.

English's plot and the radical left's dangerous game

English's intended targets extended beyond Bessent. According to court documents, he also planned to assassinate Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA). English also wanted to burn down the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank located two blocks from the White House.

The suspect admitted to conducting surveillance on Capitol grounds and acknowledged that he would likely have to kill at least three USCP officers to reach his targets. He expressed a disturbing acceptance of the possibility of "suicide by cop," indicating a willingness to die for his cause. Moreover, the affidavit revealed that English's violent plans were inspired by Luigi Mangione, who murdered UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City last year.

Trump's nomination of Bessent as treasury secretary was met with widespread approval, with the president praising the hedge fund manager as a strong advocate for the America First agenda. Bessent's confirmation on Monday despite the threat to his life marked a significant step in Trump's efforts to strengthen the U.S. economy and maintain the dollar's status as the world's reserve currency.

English's actions are part of a broader pattern of violence linked to radical leftist groups. For instance, two transgender individuals – Teresa "Milo" Youngblut and Felix "Ophelia" Baukholt – shot and killed a Border Patrol agent in Vermont last month. Reports initially claimed that an illegal alien was responsible for shooting the the agent.

Both are believed to be connected to a larger transgender terrorist group led by a figure known as "Ziz," real name Jack Lasota, based in California. This group has been linked to several other violent acts, raising concerns about a coordinated effort to destabilize the government.

English's case also highlights the intersection of mental health issues and political extremism, as evidenced in his note. Such language suggests deeper psychological struggles, which may have been exacerbated by his immersion in far-left ideologies that demonize political opponents as existential threats. The transgender community has seen a troubling rise in individuals who adopt violent tactics, often citing oppression and marginalization as justification for their actions. The radical left’s use of the term "Nazi" to describe Trump and his allies is a deliberate tactic to dehumanize and delegitimize those who oppose their agenda. By framing political disagreements as battles against fascism, extremists like English justify their violent actions as acts of resistance. English's plot and subsequent arrest serves as a stark reminder of the lengths to which the radical left will go to undermine this administration.
