Dan Golka and Mike Adams: Artificial intelligence is reshaping the workforce
By Kevin Hughes // Jan 16, 2025

  • By 2025, AI is expected to cause mass layoffs across industries, replacing roles in mid-level management, coding, customer service and more, due to its efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Customer service, finance, retail, fast food and creative industries are particularly vulnerable to AI automation, with AI systems already handling tasks like customer interactions, financial advising and content creation.
  • Millions of workers risk unemployment, with limited opportunities to transition into new roles, emphasizing the need for individuals to adapt by learning new skills or leveraging AI tools.
  • Experts urge workers to embrace AI by learning skills like prompt engineering and using AI tools to remain relevant and competitive in the evolving job market.
  • While AI offers unprecedented efficiency and innovation, it also poses significant societal challenges, requiring a proactive mindset to harness its benefits and mitigate its risks.

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to advance at a breakneck pace, industries worldwide are bracing for a seismic shift in the workforce.

By 2025, experts predict a wave of mass layoffs as AI systems increasingly replace human workers in roles ranging from mid-level management to coding and customer service.

This transformation promises unprecedented efficiency and cost savings for businesses, but it also threatens to leave millions of workers obsolete.

In a recent "Health Ranger Report" interview between host Mike Adams and Dan Golka, a financial and economic expert from California, the conversation turned to the profound implications of AI on the job market. (Related: Artificial intelligence is set to affect nearly 40% of all jobs, according to a new analysis by the International Monetary Fund (IMF))

Golka, known for his daily updates on economics and real estate, emphasized that 2025 will be the year of the "layoff tsunami," driven by the rapid adoption of AI technologies.

AI revolution in the workplace

AI is already reshaping industries in ways that were unimaginable just a few years ago. From automating inventory management to handling customer service inquiries, AI systems are proving to be faster, more accurate and far cheaper than human employees. Golka noted that even traditionally secure roles, such as mid-level management, are at risk.

"Mid-level managers are going to be non-existent," the serial entrepreneur and small business advisor said while adding that companies will save a tremendous amount of money by replacing them with AI-driven systems that don't require salaries, benefits or sick days.

The impact of AI extends beyond management. Coders, once considered indispensable, are also facing displacement.

"A good coder typically costs over $100 an hour," Adams said. "But AI is already very good at writing code."

Golka added that even industries like manufacturing are being transformed, with AI systems now capable of analyzing inventory and optimizing production in a fraction of the time it takes human workers.

Industries most at risk

The industries most vulnerable to AI-driven layoffs include:

Customer service. AI chatbots and virtual assistants are already handling a significant portion of customer interactions, reducing the need for human representatives.

Finance and banking. AI systems are streamlining tasks like loan approvals, fraud detection and even financial advising.

Retail and fast food. Automated ordering systems, like those being tested at Taco Bell, are replacing cashiers and order-takers.

Creative industries. AI is now generating music, art and even video content, raising questions about the future of creative professionals.

While the benefits of AI are clear for businesses, the human cost is staggering. Millions of workers could find themselves unemployed, with few opportunities to transition into new roles. Golka warned that those who fail to adapt will be left behind.

"People need to learn new skills," the YouTuber from Orange County, California said. "Whether it's personal safety, fishing or something else, you need to maximize what you know and find a way to make a living."

Adams echoed this sentiment, urging listeners to embrace AI tools rather than fear them.

"Learn prompt engineering," the Health Ranger advised. "Learn to use AI tools and then you won't be obsolete. You'll be managing the tools. You'll be telling them what to do and they'll do it for you in record time."

A double-edged sword

AI is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it offers unparalleled opportunities for innovation and efficiency. On the other, it poses significant challenges for workers and society at large.

"It's going to revolutionize everything. It's exciting, but there are a lot of people who are going to be caught lead footed and not realize that this is going to pass them by," Golka noted.

The key to thriving in this new era lies in adaptability. By embracing AI as a tool rather than viewing it as a threat, individuals and businesses can harness its potential while mitigating its risks.

The 2025 layoff tsunami may be inevitable, but with the right mindset and preparation, it doesn't have to be catastrophic. The question is: Are you ready?
